Amazing food and service. It was one of the best meals we've had. The duck was amazing. Definitely recommend eating here. I wish we were staying in the area longer so we could try some other menu items. Before making a booking, check groupon and see if they still have a deal available.
Food very nice well presented. Staff friendly and helpful. Interior in need of work smells musty. If this was improved the place would alot busier. As food is very good.

We were very pleasantly surprised, food was excellent, service was good. Only gripe was the decor, could be updated a bit. The ale on tap was not great hence 4 stars.
An impromptu visit to the restaurant this evening and I enjoyed the food served. Whilst the overall ambience of the restaurant is tired, I ordered the Beetroot Falafel and was very impressed with the standard of presentation and the flavour.
Had a lovely eggs Benedict in there when I stayed, my better half had omelette... the other selections on the menu looked great too
Went into the Gladstone Bar. Food (sausage sandwich and fries) was fine and service was friendly, welcoming and efficient.

The team were very accommodating of our large group, and kindly provided a specially devised set menu to make ordering and payment simpler for us.

The decor in the bar and hotel in general is tired and the furnishings could do with a face lift, but the staff were attentive and more than made up for it.
Our group went out for good food and good company, and we achieved all that at the Ostler.
A better drinks service at the table would have made the rating 5*, but we would go back again nonetheless.

Just one negative the seat next to window in first booth has you enter the restaurant to avoid it is lumpy and uncomfortable.
But food and service outstanding
Purchased using a Groupon voucher but there were extras which you simply paid for on site.
Eg Groupon voucher for 2 cost 23.20
And paid on site another approx 19.00 for 2
So total price for 2 was 41.20
But that was for a 3 Couse meal with one glass of wine for two people
Plus an additional glass of wine

Very tasty food, very good service with friendly staff. Lovely lay out too inside and nice and warm.
Although we arrived just as the restaurant were stopping serving they were very accommodating food was lovely as always and the staff very friendly.

Visited here last Sunday with my family. Really enjoyable meal and good value for money too, three courses worked out about £20 a head. Very friendly table staff and manager greeted us personally. Looking forward to coming here again. Thank you. The Akers family.
