OK so we waited just over an hour but the food arrived hot. It was delicious too. The best we've had in a long time. The spring rolls were big and very tasty.
Best Chinese in Newbury. Pork balls, salt&pepper ribs (ask for them to be long), hot&sour soup, char Sui fried rice, chow mien, beef green pepper, big spring rolls. Quality food, it’s more pricey and delivery is sometimes questionable but foods amazing. If only they did sui mai!
Can't say anything bad about this place. Staff is very nice and helpful. Menu is quite big and inexpensive (see photos). My order was ready in less than 10 min. I would call this a classical Chinese takeaway.
This is our first use of this establishment, we had a delivery. The phone service was polite and efficient, the delivery was prompt and the food was at the correct temperature (ie. Hot).
The food portions were ample and the food itself was fresh and of good quality. Will certainly use again.
Decent food and superb service! The staff on the phone are very inviting and the same goes for when your ordering at the counter. The food is great for what you pay but sadly doesn't surpass that of a standard takeaway. Some of the menu definitely needs working on and the business would benefit from a course in culinary design, but if you expect Michelin star food from a takeaway, you should expect dissapointment.
Came with free prawn crackers
5 stars
Not a bad quality of food, seems fairly busy always which probably proves the point, but in fairness food needs to be a bit more 'special' to get the 5th star.
One important thing is have never had a reaction to monosodium glutamate from there. If you suffer from allergies you will know what I mean.
It's consistent and even when they appear totally flat out in the kitchen they still maintain their standard.
Nice friendly and attentive staff, good size portions for some dishes compared to others and I keep going back, a lot : )
This looks like a modest restaurant, but the food is first class - the best Chinese in Newbury in my opinion. Fresh, authentic and delicious. Highly recommended.
Summary: Good Takeaway overall, Crispy Chilli Beef was surprisingly crispy but not spicy, will order from again if no better option available.
Let's start with Average of 3 Stars, then add and/or subtract for special points as we go!
Quality of ingredients were good including crunchy water chestnuts and bean sprouts, meat pieces were tender and had taken up flavours fine.
-The Crispy Shredded Beef with Chilli had a hole cut out in the lid, I'm guessing this was intentional (+1 Star) as it was still crispy when I started eating. Even though the dish was satisfactorily seasoned, it wasn't spicy at all (-1 Star).
-Please note that my order did not contain fish/seafood dishes, which are often difficult to make well but are good indicators of food quality. I'll update this review (if I can) once I have tried a few dishes containing seafood.
Quantity was satisfactory with each dish filling a normal sized plastic container. Could have done with a few more pieces of meat in the meat dishes.
Prices are average, my order came to just over £25 with 4 dishes and Special Fried Rice.
-Although it is now often a 'given' from good Chinese Takeaways (at least a bag of Prawn Crackers, please!), it's worth a mention that they would add freebies when orders are over certain values. The fact that they have to list this on the menu may be a sign of the fierce competition in the area, which also warrants trying out others in the area.
There is a Minimum Delivery Charge of £1 and will vary depending on distance delivered.
Customer service was good, communication was clear (+1 Star).
Overall, it is a good Takeaway that I'd order from again if there aren't better options.

A lifesaver during COVID, haven't had take-away Chinese since last February. Delivery was spot on, ribs and crispy chili beef was amazing. Thank you very much for a delicious dinner on a rainy Sunday in Enborne.
Great 👍 I absolutely love the grilled dumpling and I don't think I've ever had a order that I have not liked tbh!
Best Chinese about would highly recommend and would love to know how you guys do it well done to the staff could cheer up a lil bit tho but all in all the food is to die for try the special chowmain even the prawn toast is decent like you know when you get it and it just has no prawns in and it's really small not at chop suey house but could be improved.
Second takeaway from Chop Suey and it was really good. Ordered the chilli Bean curd and it was lovely :-)
