This place isn't on the main road but a very pleasant drive off to a pretty village. Very good welcome by the manager and staff.
Room of a fair size. Clean, good bedding and towels in a modern On-suite bathroom.
The pub has a real ale award and a small but good selection of wines and spirits.
Dinner menu had a good variety, cooked and presented well. Breakfast was good as well offering not only full English, but lighter dishes as well. Newbury and other other attractions are about 40 minutes away, depending on your chosen route.
Car Park, sunny garden .
Minor downs. No mirror for makeup, ag plugs for hairdryer, although there are mirrors and sockets in the room. It wasn't a big problem for a short stay.
We use the ibex regularly to drink and eat and Nathan and his team never disappoint us. Food is excellent and service and front of house never fails to make you feel welcome. We took friends today knowing our recommendation for a lunch time meal would not disappoint! Starters are amazing and food is excellent quality. Definitely recommend.
A destination pub!
We stayed a few weeks ago and had such a great time. Nathan is a superb host and the pub is quality - the menu, beer and wine choices are great and clearly a lot of thought goes in to what food and drink will be on the menu.
We stayed in the barn opposite the pub which was lovely and clean. The breakfast the next morning was fabulous too. We both had salmon and eggs.
Thanks Nathan and the team. We would highly recommend!
We stayed at The Ibex for a weekend getaway and we could not rate this place any higher. Nathan and the team have such a great vibe at this pub. The food is next level, there's a great section of beers and wines (including local ones) and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. If you are staying in West Berkshire at any time then we would 100% recommend The Ibex.
First visit, travelled from Wantage....We eat the steak pie which was piping hot, tasty with a sumptuous pastry and gravy and the Haddock, both were outstanding as was the Octoberfest dark ale. Well done The Ibex
We'd been meaning to visit for quite a few years and then following a walk in the area popped in for Sunday lunch. In a word, outstanding. Sunday roasts IME have the potential to go wrong for a number of reasons: overcooked meat, roast potatoes not really roasted, bad gravy, soggy or overseasoned veg - yes I'm picky 😊 My meal (roast pork) was faultless (particular highlight was the almost caramelised red cabbage 🤤) and my plate was duly cleared with gusto. I had slight food envy at the beef my daughter chose, but that's just a great excuse for us to return another time, which we shall 👊. Top marks team 👍

Decided to drop in whilst passing.
Glad that I did!
Great food ( steak and potato pie) and I, literally, had the place to myself.
There was a cricket match going on in the nearby village so, everyone had gone over to watch.
Lovely food, nice size portion you will not come over hungry

Lovely fish and chips, all tasted lovely and organic 😁
Had lunch here twice in the last week. Absolutely faultless. Food was amazing as always. Great service and lovely country pub atmosphere. Would highly recommend
Great food and accommodation was pet friendly so will be back again
This place is exceptional. Staff are very friendly without being intrusive. The menu is small but with something for everyone. Food was delicious: well cooked and good ingredients. Portions are generous and the puddings are a must. The pesto linguine was superb and the chocolate brownie a melt in the mouth explosion of cocoa.
We were the only ones booked but I guess for twixt Xmas and new year that is not unusual. Will definitely return.
Friendly and relaxed. Excellent lunch, delicious, varied menu so lots of choice. Refreshing to see Christmas decorations being put up in December and not in September.
We came last night for a meal and the food was absolutely gorgeous. I had the venison for my main and everything about it was perfect, the quality, size and everything included. Will definitely be coming back again
Wonderful stay at this little gem! Nathan and his team were so welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble . Food excellent ! Accommodation also very clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this as a perfect stay ! Thank you !
Located in a typical quaint English village 55 miles from Southampton and the ferry port to the IOW
Off the beaten track but well worth a visit as the Inn is welcoming friendly and the staff are genuinely efficient professional and warm.
The room was spacious and well furnished with en-suite shower facilities.
The evening menu is small but the food available was good and tasty.
Breakfast was lovely and set us up for the day.
Ample free parking and a beer garden so you can enjoy a beer (or three) in the sun.
Would highly recommend you try this Inn as it’s definitely value for your £
Brilliant pub lunch. We have dined here on several occasions and every time it’s been great service and excellent food. Definitely recommend this lovely country Pub
There is nothing not to like about this place. Lovely room - very clean. Good team working in the bar - friendly staff - good selection of beers - food extremely good. Even the regulars at the bar are chatty. If you're in the area I'd definitely recommend.
Quiet village location.
On balance, deserves five stars for the welcome and the offer to store some of our bikes (I arrived in a group of seven) in their store room both for security and to make space for customers wanting to use the patio. Spacious, recently decorated dining area. All the dishes the group selected were well presented, although there was not a great selection of vegetarian food which I personally would have welcomed.
