Beautiful atmosphere and friendly staff. Was happy to discover they had vegan options!! I had an iced latte with soya milk and a raspberry almond and orange cake and it was delish!! We sat outside and honestly I could've stayed there all day🥰💕🧸
Good location, close to the main shopping street and next to the canal. It was a hot humid day but it was pleasant in their canal side garden under the trees with a cooling breeze coming off the water. There real lemonade with slices of lemon, a sprig of mint and lots of ice was excellent.
A nice Relaxing place sit by the canal and watch the world go by. A nice quaint cafe in which is decorated in nice pink flowers and offers tea and proper China cups. Good customer service.
Such a cute place! We had the afternoon tea for 3 persons and it was just lovely. A good variation of savoury and sweet, there were sandwiches, cakes, scones, it was amazing! The staff was also really nice. Would defenitely recommend!
Lovely decor inside and great atmosphere right next to the canal overlooking Victoria Park. A place for a quiet and relaxing breakfast or afternoon tea. In the summer there are always many wonderful visitors. The staff is very pleasant and accommodating. Prices are slightly above average for a piece of cake, we paid £5.40, and for a wai for two about £4.5, in general, not bad enough. I was surprised by their wonderful dishes, at each table it was different and unique, and it looks very aesthetically pleasing. I want to come back here again with friends for a wonderful atmosphere
We visited today for afternoon tea with bubbly. What a fantastic place!!! The staff were very accommodating with changing the sandwich fillings to what we requested. The scones were freshly made and the cakes were spectacular. All the staff were polite and friendly. Would give this place 6 🌟 if I could.
This is a tea shop situated by a lovely, quaint canal where swans reside.
We had tea early in the morning, right when the shop opened (after driving from Heathrow, from an overnight cross-Atlantic flight). Weary and sleepy, we were delighted and refreshed by the tea, tasty scones, and delicious freshly prepared sandwiches.
The staff was lovely, and the tea and food presentation was thoughtful. It all added to the immense charm of the place.
Please consider a visit, whether you are passing through Newbury or reside near by. You will fall in love with its charm (and good food!)
A complete cutesy joyful experience every time I come here! If you want to escape into a rose-filled Alice in Wonderland meets country garden tea room with a delightfully restful position on the side of the canal - well this is the ideal place to visit!! Amazing cakes, schi-schi eclectic old fashioned floral China, beautifully presented bacon sandwiches and offering champagne afternoon teas (not tried but think I might another time!) this is an deal place to visit - escape - and relax. If raining, there’s room inside where the experience is all around you! It is close to the main road so slight hum of traffic but just focus on the view of swans on the canal and it will soon Zen out! A destination site - please visit!

Beautifully decorated and furnished with a warm vintage decor. Inside and outside, you almost feel like you're transported to another place, almost like a magical beautiful one.
Staff is extremely lovely and helpful.
Perfect for an afternoon tea, a light lunch or just a coffee by the canal.
It's so cozy and the atmosphere is so welcoming you just want to stay there for the rest of the day!
Excellent variety of loose leaf teas and there's plenty variety of gluten free cakes, in the middle of the general ones.
Try the soup: tasty and perfect for a relaxing lunch.
We had planned to have an afternoon tea at this lovely little café while visiting Newbury. We decided to go for a quick lunch, a couple days before the planned afternoon tea. Well, it was a good thing we did, since we didn’t get to go back for afternoon tea…
Just as the name suggests, it is located right by the canal. It was very picturesque, peaceful and relaxing. They also have seating upstairs, and had histories on the canal, with photos posted all around the wall.
Their cakes looked amazing, but I decided not to order any dessert on this day. Yes I know, a big mistake! Our friend ordered Heavenly Hot Chocolate, and it looked so pretty! We went with Teashop House Blend Tea, and Earl Grey. The young boy who brought the teas (I hear this is a family-run business) was trying to very careful not to mix them up. But the funny thing was, he totally mixed the tea up! LOL. We didn’t realize until half way through… I thought the House Blend tea tasted so much like Earl Grey.
For lunch, we had Ham, Cheese & Chutney Sandwich and Eggs Benedict. They were both tasty, nice portion, and filling. Our friend went with something healthier, and ordered one of their vegan sandwiches. It is nice to have that option if you want or need vegan dish.
We had a nice quick lunch here. It was adorable and cozy. The food was good, not amazing, but good. I think the sweets might be better than the actual food…I will never know, unless I go back! Lesson learned: don’t never expect your plan to go just the way you planned them…and have your dessert first!
Amazing tea shop by the canal in the heart of Newbury. Lovely views across the park and outdoors seating by the canal. Great place to spend a few hours watching the world go by. Food is a good selection of vegan friendly dishes. Staff are super friendly. Highly recommended
Lovely place with beautiful views by the canal. Nice food and cakes although takes longer if it's busy, worth the wait though! Nice staff and a cute little place.
Wonderful spot by the canal in Newbury. Perfect parking and the food us fantastic. On a sunny day this is the place to be to watch life go by and enjoy a delicious treat.
If you are ever near the canal in Newbury don't hesitate to stop for tea and cake here. A wonderful family run cafe by the water. Lots of outside and indoor seating. Absolutely delicious food and an even warmer welcome. We were lucky enough to experience one of their afternoon teas for two. Such an array of completely homemade delights on a beautiful three tiered plate. Interesting sandwiches and scrumptious cakes. Even the jam is homemade by the teashop team. A sublime afternoon to treat those you love to what a tea room at the top of its game has to offer. I overheard that they even had a vegan cream tea option too. The scones were some of the best I've ever had, and trust me I've tried a lot. We'll be back for sure.
I can highly recommend this place!
The AT for 2 was aplenty and lovely, coffee was good and the hot chocolate was amazing (according to my son).
The team is also super welcoming and helpful, double checking our dietary requirements before our arrival (we booked the AT).
We will be back in summer when we can enjoy the sunshine outside. :)
Staff were friendly and efficent. Great tasting cakes, coffee and location with seating next to the canal overlooking Victoria Park.
lovely little cafe, really nice food and a good view of the canal when your sat other side of the tables
What a gem!
The 4 stars only due to 40 min waiting time for a sandwich.
Scones and tea where very delicious. Absolutely loved how it was served and it did taste homemade.
This place is a must go. If I'm ever back, I'll come back to this place and hopefully the full afternoon tea. Loved it.
