Back again after many years absence and nothing has changed (in a good way). Still lovely, well prepared, well presented English food. A fixed menu but with wide ranging choices and an extensive wine list to suit all budgets. Perfect for a celebration or just enjoying great cooking.

Wow. A first class experience without the top class bill. Everything served was beautifully and perfectly cooked and made with Love. The Cheese Soufflé was perfect, the Beef Cheeks were cooked to perfection and the chocolate soufflé was cooked absolutely beautifully. Some very technical dishes. Bravo. 6 people ate and all 6 enjoyed everything. Service was great too. Very attentive and welcoming.

If you are looking for a high-quality evening out with excellent food, wine and service then you will find it here. I have eaten here three times now each one with parties of eight. The last time was the day the restaurant reopened after summer closure and each time the service and organisation have been superb making myself and my guests feel welcome as if we where eating in our own dining room. The menu is varied with options for most tastes and a wine list with prices that range from £27 to £330. All in all a great find and will be back.

Delightful meal with a lovely ambiance. Classic British food with some French influences. Service and location made for a very pleasant dinner. You can also get some very picturesque views of the surrounding area from the outer deck.

Great food, great service, friendly staff, fixed-price 2 or 3 course menu with optional extras. The Dew Pond divided into a number of rooms, giving a feeling Visiting in late August as a party of 4 we sat outside enjoying the view with a drink while they prepared the starters, Parma ham and marinated figs for my wife and a crab, prawn and mashed avocado salad for myself. Beautifully presented and the main courses (duck confit and roast lamb) were cooked to melt-in-the mouth perfection. It's worth the trek down country lanes, dodging the tractors, to find and enjoy relaxed fine dining.

Excellent food, and very good service. Prices a bit steep for us (we live in France), but nothing to complain about. The little niggle we had was the top and tail of the meal. An aperitif was served with 1 cheese straw each! We’re not going to pig out on apero, so a dish of olives, or peanuts or somesuch shouldn’t have been too much to ask. At the tail of the meal we had coffee and that was it, just coffee. Chocolate was available at an extra charge. Here again a small dessert biscuit or chocolate with the coffee would have made all the difference. For us it’s the little touches that make the difference, and there weren’t any. Shame, as the food, ambience and service were very, very good.

Booked a date night recently. Meal, wine, service absolutely superb. There are no fine restaurants in this part of the world. It deserves a Michelin star in my opinion.

I have been coming to The Dew Pond since it opened 26 years ago and have never been anything other than delighted. I took my sons and friends there last night for their birthday dinner. From the moment we opened the door, we could not have been made more welcome nor made to feel more special. Everything - surroundings, ambience, service, food, drinks - is of the highest quality. Julie and Keith Marshall are restaurateurs par excellence. Every visit is a delight; every meal a new sensation. Newbury is fortunate to have several superb restaurants in and around it. The Dew Pond has to be my favourite.

First time at this lovely little restaurant. Fabulous countryside spot, intimate dining area, attentive yet discreet ladies doing the serving, and Chef who deserved a Michelin. All the while being unpretentious yet very high quality. Great wine selection too. No faults whatsoever, and a pure delight. No, that's too bland. It was a fabulous yet understated meal. Thankyou.
