Scottish taster menu was amazing, cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. Staff were friendly & efficient. An excellent evening from start to finish. Would definitely recommend to friends & family. Special menu but can't wait to try the usual menu.
Scottish Tasting menu. Bit late doing this review but I must say what a stunning meal we had. It was absolutely delicious. My personal favourite courses had to be the haggis bonbons and the Cullen skink soup. Wonderful host, exceptional service, beautiful food.
Been wanting to visit the Bottle and Glass for a long time, and was pleased to get the chance on a Monday evening.
Walked through the front door and unfortunately the first impression wasn't great - the waitress behind the counter facing us, was in conversation with a table across the room, so we stood and waited for the conversation to finish. In the meantime, two ladies walked in behind us, and went and stood further down the bar from us. The waitress finished her conversation, turned away from us and went to serve the two ladies!
In her defence, she did apologise and showed us to our table, but it was just a bit rude/ignorant to start the evening.
The Bottle and Glass is clearly a beautiful pub, inside and out, well presented, well thought out and just a charming place to dine.
The wine and beer selection is excellent, and the menu has a variety of eye catching dishes.
We both had three courses, my wife the Beer Bon Bons, Rolled Lamb and Pistachio Cake (which was one of the best cakes ever tasted) and I, the Chicken Wings, Sirloin and Brulee.
All dishes were well presented and certainly tasty, though a very minor feeling from myself was the chips were perhaps a little too heavily salted (but not so that I left any!)
All in all, for £99, the Bottle and Glass is definitely worth the visit, and we shall be returning when we get the chance.
I’ve been meaning to share a review for the bottle and glass after many great meals but last nights meal was outstanding. After a warm welcome we were shown to a lovely table in a big bay window next to a roaring fire - a really cosy setting on a wet Tuesday night.
We shared the heritage tomato bruschetta which was colourful and tasty. I had the 10oz sirloin steak which was cooked medium rare as per the chefs recommendation and it came out perfect. About an inch thick, a beautiful cut of meat. My wife had the saddle of venison which was a real autumn warmer. All washed down with a gorgeous Rioja.
To finish off we shared the chocolate cremeux which is like a chocolate ganache. Absolutely superb. Attentive service throughout and felt really well looked after, by Chris I believe. Can’t wait to go back to this gem of a pub.
What a hidden gem of a pub . Had seen the sign advertising the pub on the way to doddington hall and decided to check it out and so glad we did it blends old English pub with a modern twist nicely. Also we have been looking for ideas for a fireplace for a extension that is double sided and the one in there is perfect to copy . Will definitely be going back soon as its dog friendly too .
We have just eaten in The Bottle & Glass this evening and we were really impressed. Lovely atmosphere, surroundings, and staff. I had the paneer burger, chips, and coleslaw. It was absolutely delicious! Our first visit but definitely not our last.
What an amazing village pub, good selection of food and drink even better when the boss pays the bill, no hesitation in going back 😄 street parking there's also a carpark
We’ve visited a few times now. The staff are always friendly and service is generally prompt. We just love the food! Our favourites are Sunday dinner (side of cauliflower cheese 🤤) and B&G burger (side of Halloumi fries) if you’ve room for dessert, you can’t go wrong with sticky toffee pudding. The menus change seasonally but you won’t be disappointed with a visit here.
Very nice gem fifteen minutes outside Lincoln. The food was extremely good (went there for the Sunday roast, pleased also with the dessert - Apple crumble), the service was a tad slow but the dining room was full of customer so it may be expected on a weekend. I'll definitely come back again with people to impress or to have a nice lunch with family and friends.
Lovely pub really nice staff food really good would defo recommend would go again if lived near by
The food was delicious. Made to feel very welcome. The service was excellent. Only went in 1 room, but that was lovely & clean. The chilli & herb new potatoes were amazing, as was the wild mushroom crumpet. I'm a vegetarian, so I went with the red pepper linguine, very tasty & palatable. Very impressed.
Loved that we could take our well-behaved dog and they provided a bowl of water for her.
The menu isn't vast, but I've found that in the past,a place that has loads of options isn't necessarily the best for quality and freshness, so didn't mind.
I really enjoyed my lamb, although it was very expensive at £20. The Pistachio and olive oil cake was awesome. We all enjoyed our food and time there.
It was hot though and no ventilation options.
We hope to go again another time.
Lovely meal, everything was amazing service & food especially the onion rings! Thank you for making my 30th very special :)
Expensive but great food.
Servers need to pay more attention to order as I got wrong drink and wrong meal.
Saying that best Sunday lunch I have had in a pub
Great place with a good menu and selection of drinks.
Staff are friendly and helpful
We went for lunch on Friday, had two courses and couldn't fit in a sweet. The fish and chips were good, chips were skin on which I personally am not too keen on but the fish was very good quality.
We will definitely visit again, possibly in an evening to check out the atmosphere
Had the tasting menu 12th July, four out of five were perfect, the beetroot risotto was salt city, would have liked faster service between dishes but still really enjoyed. Great drinks and service, looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended.
