Just spent an afternoon here. Fabulous service by very helpful & friendly staff. Would highly recommend this hidden gem !
We've visited the Harbour Master cafe a few times now on Saturday afternoons for our tea and cake. It's a fab place and really relaxing, with good sounds in the background. Always ma to feel really welcome. Just need to get there when I'm not driving so that I can try the delicious looking gins. Highly recommend when you are in Newark
The absolute best place in Newark for good wine and service. Love the atmosphere and host
Popped in to retreat from the typical British summer weather and found a warm and welcoming treat, the cakes were delightful and the wine selection superb. A truly wonderful hidden gem in Newark, I will be returning to sample some more of the fantastic food and drink.
My first visit to the Harbour Master but won’t be my last. Took my dad for a treat for Fathers Day and received a lovely welcome, delicious food and in relaxed surroundings.
A really chic gin cage bar, great selection of gins. Totally different to any other place in newark, love this place
Stopped off for a quick refuel cycling.
The bacon and brie open sandwich was amazing.
Always fantastic fresh food and luscious cakes to choose from. Coffee here is really very good and the service and staff provide a warm friendly atmosphere. I love the decor here and could sit all day watching the world go by with my coffee and cake.
Called in today for lunch, what a great place! Nice surroundings with really good food and most importantly good coffee! Will be calling in again real soon!
First rate...a touch of class! The welcome is so friendly and (for me) the choice of beers and wines excellent. Don't miss it!!

Always a warm and friendly welcome! Delicious food and perfect cappuccino! Also ideal place for chilling Friday and Saturday evening with a nice glass of wine!
Quaint little cafe / bar. Lovely drinks and delicious cake. Thank you.
First time visiting here - never seen it before but found it on Google Maps. The interior is lovely with a classic and eclectic mix of retro furniture, very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere with lots of lovely natural light from the big windows. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, making our drink exactly how we liked them. The menu was quite limited in terms of savoury snacks/lunch items, but what there is seemed to be very high quality. There was a good selection of hot drinks and some delicious fresh cakes and bakes on display. We tried two different cakes and both tasted amazing. I don't know how we didn't know about this place before, but we will definitely be returning!

Great bar, wonderful Service, a little ott on the decor but it works well. Good selection of wines and gins. Hip and happening place
It's a really lovely space and nicely decorated to give a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The cake selection is really good and the coffee lovely too. The waterfront location makes it a great place to stop when exploring the wharf and castle.
What a wonderful place that I have only just discovered in my own town! I will definitely visit again. Fantastic laid back atmosphere, brilliant selection of drinks and a warm, welcoming reception from the host make this place an absolute must for a night out
Fab lunch, always a pleasure to go to
Really lovely feel to the place, excellent cake and coffee. They used to have a kitchen but the owner told us it had closed down due to Covid, so it's more of a café than a bistro these days, but still and excellent place to go for a bite to eat and cup of coffee.
Popped in for a hot chocolate and a bite to eat the other Saturday afternoon. It was just after they stopped serving food but the chef took pity and we're glad they did. Had a chicken wrap and my girlfriend had the mushroom ciabatta and they were delicious. The hot chocolate was excellent as well. Very friendly service and we'll be popping back again. Thanks!
