Exquisite food the bread and butters were amazing. The cheddar and pineapple hedgehog was out of this world and as someone who doesn’t have a sweet tooth, I finished all of my deserts. The chocolate, summer berries and radish desert was mind blowing. The owner was lovely. Made a big effort to speak to us and treated his chefs brilliantly. Was so nice watching him coach them and give them feedback... but also joke with them and he always had a smile on his face. He seemed like a great person. Fantastic restaurant.

Stunning Tasting Menu at the Best Restaurant in Newark Wow! This was a real lunch time treat. This is real Fine Dining😋 From the start with the Bread Platter you know it's going to be something special. Followed by the Lobster with fresh Squid ink pasta. Not going to list it all as there is a pic of the menu for you to drool over.😃 The star of the show was the Rump Steak with Ox Tail, Parsnip and Beetroot. At the end of the meal you get Petit Fours with tea included. We feel at £60 for a tasting menu as good as this it's great value. The service and food was outstanding. We Sat on one of their Chef's table so you can see all the dishes being created. They also have a lovely cosy cellar area ideal for private dining. How is this restaurant not listed in the michelin guide ? Review helpful please like 👍 follow

Amazing experience. Having visited a local Michelin star restaurant, the food at Taylor's was on par, but with a more relaxed environment. The fig liqueur and extra cheese course were a fantastic addition!

The dining experience was excellent. Not overly stuffy but warm and welcoming. Each course was well presented and the ingredients explained. We were there for nearly 3 hours and each and every dish was superb. The perfect romantic meal.

Have eaten here three times now and fantastic each time, definitely some of the best food you will ever have with well paired wine. Likewise service has always been great. I'd go every week if I could.

We had a truly excellent lunch having selected the taster menu with some lovely wines to compliment the meal. The staff were very knowledgeable about the food and wines. Art on a plate, with all courses tasting as good as they looked. We will definitely go back.

We happened upon this place by chance, walking past and being attracted by the clean and elegant-looking dining room, unfortunately it was closed at the time. Looking at the menu we resolved to return and made a reservation for the following weekend. The Express lunch tempted us in; £18 for two courses had led us to think either the quality would not match the 'sound' on the menu or would be very good value. Happily it was the latter! Service was attentive and polite, conversational but not overbearing. There was an extensive wine list and a good selection of soft drinks. The petit fours were a particular highlight; the "Parsnip 99" being an intriguing surprise. I would heartily recommend visting given the chance, and we fully intend to return in the future.

A welcome addition to the Sunday lunch scene around Newark. Taylors on Castlegate are now doing an excellent Sunday lunch. The weekend before last the food was fabulous, the right mix between a "chefy and traditional Sunday roast" with a generous portion of beef and great gravy. Slight hiccup hence only 4 stars with wine dregs being poured but dealt with generously and professionally, so left a cash tip. Look forward to giving a full 5 star review in the future.

Just flawless! Went here for a birthday lunch and the food was simply outstanding. We sat being able to watch into the kitchen which was really great and I've got to say the food is among the best I've ever had. Very friendly and helpful service and some wonderful wine from Anne et Vin too. It was more an experience than a meal and something very memorable. We'll be definitely coming back soon.

A real fine dining experience. The food was exquisite and each course looked beautiful too. The server and the head chef came to the table, providing information about the dish, all of which looked stunning and prepared with so much care. We never felt rushed and the pace at which each meal arrived to the table was just right. The perfect romantic meal for my husband's birthday.

Fabulous Sunday lunch! My only feedback is to improve a little on the service as we waited some time for a few things and the wine we selected was not available but other than that a lovely Sunday lunch all round. Thanks to the chefs for another lovely meal!
