Didn't stay so can't comment on the rooms. Called in for food whilst in New Quay. Lovely pub with a good atmosphere whilst watching the rugby. Nice outdoor area for the kids to run around. 8 of us eat and everyone really enjoyed the food. Dog friendly too. Would recommend and go back when in the area.

Just had a fantastic weekend break at the Black Lion, everything was just Wow! We have visited Newquay, but not stayed, so were very aware of how popular and busy it is, and the lack of parking. So to find somewhere to stay with its own car park was a pleasant surprise. There are posts on the website about the difficulties they are experiencing with staffing. We honestly did not notice at all. All the staff from Mike and Paula to the bar staff, the kitchen staff and the ladies doing housekeeping were polite, friendly and worked extremely hard to ensure we had a good stay. The room and en suite were spotlessly clean, spacious and very comfortable. We were lucky to have glorious weather and the view was simply stunning. The bar clearly has a well kept cellar, and the combination of this and a large beer garden with lots of tables and a welcome for children and dogs meant the pub was constantly busy. The food menu was compact compared to other places we have stayed but the quality of food, the way it was cooked and presented (including breakfast) and the huge portions overcame this. The thing that struck us most was how quiet the hotel was once you were in your room. An absolute haven and we cannot recommend it highly enough. Thank you Black Lion for a wonderful time

Lovely overnight stay, evening meal was excellent, breakfast was fantastic too, rooms were spotlessly clean and such a comfy big bed, great nights sleep. Literally can’t fault it, location perfect, staff went over and above. No complaints at all, highly recommend.

Lovely pub, good selection of drinks, large garden overlooking New Quay and Cardigan bay. Food also looked good. Convenient for a stop off if you've parked at the nearby 'central' car park in New Quay.

We have visited twice now and loved it on both occasions. The children had fun in the play area and the parents enjoyed a cool beverage over looking the beautiful baby. Perfect.

If you are hungry and looking for good hearty pub grub - this is the place. Quick service and substantial tasty meals. Nice big garden too - perfect for viewing the bay.

A lovely hotel, recently refurbished to a high standard, in a beautiful location, with views over the bay and harbour. A short walk to the harbour and beach. Staff very welcoming and enjoyable meals.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I visited for food and drinks with my wife and 18 month old son whilst staying at the New Quay Haven site. The food was great, amazing view looking over the harbour(even though the weather was bad) and service was 10/10! Made to feel really welcome from the moment we walked in. Our only disappointment was discovering the restaurant on our last day of our holidays. Would 100% recommend! Thank you.

We called for lunch while awaiting our Boat trip while in New Quay. Food was great, fresh and tasty and weather good enough to sit outside in the beer garden overlooking the sea which was fab in the sunshine. Lovely little play area for kids. Ordered at the bar which was pleasant and efficient. Great table service outside and the local premium draught lager also delicious! Recommended!
