Amazing meal for my mum's 60th, the staff were lovely and friendly. The chef let my boys sit and watch while they cooked their dinner and was very understanding towards my boys. Great food, staff and beautiful place. Thank you

I came yesterday with my mum as it was a special birthday for her. When we got there we were greeted promptly an asked if we would like a drink as we were early. We both had a cocktail we then went to our table when it was time. We were lucky enough to be there on a day when James was doing his cookery school. I had asked the waiter earlier if it would be possible for us to have a photo with James, which we both got an my mum had a signed menu from him. Our food was lovely we both had the Wagyu Burger with mushroom & truffle mayonaise. Then i had the warm chocolate mousse (scrummy) an mum had bread & butter pudding neither of us could finish them. All in all we had a lovely time an James (manager) was extremely helpful with arranging to meet James Martin. Great staff an we'll be back

Wonderful meal, as always, at The Kitchen on Easter Sunday. We are always impressed with the friendly service here, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The food is delicious and some of the menu changes with the season so you can always expect something a bit different. We’ve visited here a number of times and will always return.

Right, so we are big fans of James Martin and watch his tv shows regularly so we had maybe high expectations when we visited the kitchen at chewton glen. We were hoping for something on similar lines of Michelin guide type of experience.. We tried the Bao Buns with crab and the crab risotto. Both were nice but didn’t have any wow factor. Felt more like a fancy pub. The food was super heavy and greasy too. Pudding was really nice. Verdict -4/5 Budget - 3 course meal for 2 easily 125 without wines

We booked here as a celebration meal when visiting the New Forest for our mini-moon following our wedding. Great restaurant, food was incredible, gluten free options, great wine, my hubby was fascinated watching the chefs in the kitchen. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great. Recommend booking in advance.

I wanted to say how lovely the staff were. We came here last year and didn't have a good experience with the staff, although the food was great. . But we came back , this was offered as a good will gesture and we had the best time. The food was fantastic and all the staff were helpful and friendly. Myself and my friend are massive James Martin fans. We will be back and would like to try his other resturant the dinning room too . Thank you to the staff for being so attentive

My 4th time to The Kitchen last night for my birthday meal and what a great place. So relaxed, with great service, amazing food and a homely feel that is perfect for the setting within the Chewton Glenn grounds. The food is always top notch which is a credit to James and his team. Always look forward to visiting and can’t wait for my return.

Had our very first visit to The Kitchen yesterday while over on holiday from Australia. From the moment we walked in Cheryl made us feel so welcome, the food was excellent and the atmosphere very relaxed and friendly. Will definitely be coming back again.

Been here twice, staff are super friendly and the atmospheres great. Have found the mains on both occasions to be fairly average considering the price. Think the menu could do with a revamp.

As soon as we arrived we were made welcome, we were served by lauryn who was the perfect waitress throughout our visit. Our meal was outstanding especially my dessert of a knickerbocker glory. It was nice seeing the chefs behind their station looking so calm while working, the whole experience was amazing I'm a massive fan of James Martin so I couldn't resist buying one of his books that were on sale there.

The fish and chips potion was huge. Lovely fish. The chips were nothing special. The apple tartin was fantastic. Very tasty, very sweet and beautifully presented.

No amount words can possibly describe how amazing this heaven of yumminess is!! From starters, to mains, to mouth watering desserts, this place is off the scale. The setting, on the grounds of the beautiful Chewton Glen could not be more fitting for such a fine establishment. Our experience (myself, my brother and his girlfriend) was fantastic, and absolutely made by the warm and friendly staff - Lindsey is an absolute asset with her professional and polite manner and the head chef Adam even found time to come over to our table and genuinely seemed to value our feedback. The pictures of the food cannot begin to convey how super tasty everything was - and I'm a hard to impress lady! If you're in the area, or even if you have to travel far and wide, I would definitely recommend this restaurant for an unbeatable experience :D

Fantastic restaurant, for James Martin or outstanding food fans. Food is just superb very reasonably priced, traveled 135 miles to enjoy a meal at The Kitchen. Staff are very friendly, professional and efficient. I would recommend a visit, hotel onsite but the restaurant was the attraction for us. The menu is available to review online, Mr Martin is a very busy man so don’t be disappointed if he’s not onsite during your visit. Enjoy!!!

It was a long time coming to get here for lunch but oh my book your table now. Really some of the best restaurant food we have had great ingredients cooked perfectly and served with joy and cheer by Cheryl. We had skipped breakfast to be ready for 3 course lunch. Prawns mussels aubergine starters were fantastic. I had the day boat fish which was delicious a pork chop declared some of best pork ever had, and a steak which was sooo good. Minor pause before pud and more tantalising flavours with the Kitchen Apple and the bread n butter pudding. Honestly it's gone into our top ten great price too, we will be back.
