Very impressive, thoughful cooking! The food was outstanding - we had wild hare served pink and tender for starters, wild boar loin perfectly cooked with a touch of pink, and an amazing vegetarian dish featuring squash. Everything was cooked perfectly, well thought out, balanced and delicious. One of our top dining experiences this 2.5 week trip in South West UK, and far better than some of the reputable or Michelin starred restaurants we tried in the region. This place deserves far more recognition than it already does - imaginative, thoughtful cooking, but looking at the fish & chips and burgers coming out of the kitchen, the pub food should be equally good.

Amazing stay from arrival through to departure! Great service from staff and the food was outstanding! Our room was spacious with a huge comfy bed and massive deep roll top bath which was just the ticket! Fresh delicious breakfast, would've loved to stay longer but will definitely return in the future too 👍

Had a brilliant time, we had time to relax with a drink at the bar before sitting down to our meal to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We spent a very happy 3 hours enjoying the food and family company in such wonderful surroundings. The staff were very attentive and made the day very special for us all.

Lovely welcome, very friendly staff and great food. We had the daily specials which were a 70 day dry aged steak which was absolutely delicious, tons of flavour and my GF had Dover sole (brown butter, capers etc).......both were excellent...starters were great too, crab and monkfish and the bread was the best I have had anywhere. We are looking forward to our next visit.

You can't fault the service, the food and wine knowledge of the staff, location and the food is out of this world. Thanks for an amazing evening.

We stayed there for a night and we loved everything: location, stunning views, amazing service from Adam, spacious room and nice food. It was so relaxing, quiet, we enjoyed sitting in the garden. We also walked around the area, nature is beautiful. I was just about to give 4 stars only because we felt the whole stay was tiny bit overpriced, but regardless we had great welcome and enjoyable experience.

Exceptional restaurant that deserves its reputation. The interior feels rustic yet elegant. The terrace and view of The Cotswolds are stunning and such a joy to sit there in the sunshine. Roast dinner is impeccable. Wine list is impeccable. Cocktails are impeccable. Service too. Overall a very high standard establishment. Will definitely be returning with more of my guests.

Just dropped in for a pint and lunch. What a great pub! Fantastic views across the local countryside. Very relaxed atmosphere, good service and good beer. One of the best burgers I have ever had, with local Hook Norton beer what more could you ask for.

Beautiful pub nestled in the Cotswolds. We had Sunday lunch. The beef was magnificent and the chicken also. Care & attention has been taken with this food. However, the one thing I couldn’t swallow was £6 for the bread starter. This was one, yes ONE slice of bread with marmite butter, and beef dripping. The butter was delicious, whipped and at the perfect temperature. If this came with an individual loaf, or two small rolls I wouldn’t have mentioned it. But one slice of bread; £6? Can’t justify that I’m afraid. Service was good. It was a busy Sunday so the team handled everyone’s demands well.

A great located restaurant and bar deep within the Cotswolds. I dined here with my family and young son. They do accommodate children with a good menu. Service and food was very good, and a fantastic view in the garden towards the back of the property. I will definitely return and recommend.

We visited here a few weeks ago, the Sunday roast was the best I’ve ever had. It’s £29, but worth every penny. The meat was cooked superbly, the roast potatoes incredible. Service was immaculate. Will be returning soon.

The location of this place is outstanding, the views and village are wonderful, a true Cotswolds classic. The service matched the location and not only that but the food was similarly top drawer. The veggie options are good, the cauliflower main was very well received! The meat eaters will be blessed with a wide range of choice, with the lamb main a delicious meal. The menu offers burgers (top quality) too for a more traditional pub option, but be sure that these are not basic is standard!! Prices are punchy, the lamb for example was £30+ and steaks are similar, so dinner isn't cheap, but the quality is high. The only downside is that atmosphere was lacking and a bit "empty'. That was because the place a bit sparse and so the buzz of a happening restaurant is missing. Overall a big thumbs up.

An absolutely stunning place to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We stayed in one of the rooms, which was lovely 'The Pheasant Nest'. The staff were very polite and attentive. We also ate at the restaurant, and the food was sublime, and once again, the staff were brilliant. Then, we woke up the next morning and had breakfast there, which was also faultless and was served by a very warm and welcoming staff member. The only slight niggle in our room was a leaky shower head, but it does not change my 5 star ratings as it worked. We will definitely stay here again for that special celebratory weekend. Thank you!

Fantastic meal, in a great location. One of the best roasts I’ve ever had. Great kids food too. Pricey but worth it as an occasional treat.

Superb food, location and friendly staff. Was able to sit outside and enjoy the amazing views with delicious food, I had the lamb and my friend the lobster, would thoroughly recommend both! A hidden gem. I look forward to visiting again next time I’m in the Cotswolds.
