Excellent food. My partner ordered the pigs head and he said it was the most delicious meal he's ever had. My salmon was perfect. I could have eaten it twice over. Staff were attentive and polite. Would definitely recommend this place yo anyone.

After hearing good things about the Highwayman I was intrigued to find out what all the hype was about. I had the Cheeky pie, the Mrs had the Ribeye and the kids had two childrens meals, all four were fantastic. ( I was a chef for 8 years so I tend to nitpick when eating out, I found nothing to complain about) the staff were helpful and very accommodating. All in all a lovely lunch out, we can't recommend highly enough.

The location and surroundings set the scene perfectly for wgat appears to be simple food but executed really well. Quality and attention to detail make the food a talking point all through the meal and afterwards. The feeling inside the highwayman is that they want you to stay and enjoy your time there. .it feels like nothing is too much trouble. Attentive without going over the top. It's the small things that mean they really care about your experience..bringing out extra plates..in case you want to share each others food..lovely homemade sauces which delight and gorgeous little flapjacks with your coffees. The staff know the menu inside out which gives you confidence. It's somewhere that now we've found it...we will definitely be back and very soon.

We’ve just got home from the most fabulous evening. From the moment we called to ask if dogs were welcome to walking thru the door half and hour later we could not have been better looked after. The food was incredible and beautifully presented. Really tasted as good as it sounded on the menu and as good as it looked on the plate. The children thoroughly enjoyed their food and were so warmly regarded by the staff, made the experience all the more special. We will be returning very soon I’m sure and will be recommending to everyone we know. Thank you so much for making us so welcome and taking such great care of us, love from The Bakers x

Really good meal with a lovely lemon posset for pudding. Attentive staff. Looking at booking a room for a family get together here. Good ale but would be nice to see another brewery along with Thwaites

Absolutely superb. Had just spent a week in London and this was the best eating experience of the week. A special mention to our waitress Kat who couldn't have been more welcoming, attentive and helpful. The food and atmosphere was superb and I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Fabulous food and great ambience. Roast beef melts in the mouth and the chicken had a scrumptious gravy served with it. Dessert was lush. Will definitely return.

A while since we dined here, no reason other than trying other venues however the high standards are still there...the Pigs Head of the main menu was epic, will be back shortly to savour this delight again 👍

Our 2nd visit to The Highwayman. Saturday evening... Packed! A superb country pub/restaurant that hasn't been spoilt by football on flat screen T.V's. The art of conversation is alive and kicking here. Ample parking with blue badge spaces. Outdoor seating has really been thought about with quality furnishings and protection from weather. Inside is so easy on the eye, not an assualt on the senses, most welcoming, the 'at home feeling' very few places offer. The barman was exceptionally attentive, chatty and quite charming, he certainly knew his craft. Every customer was treated with the same respect and consideration. We were seated in a quiet corner for which we were thankful for and having chosen our meals they arrived relatively quickly for a busy evening. The servings are ample in quantity, attractively presented and very tasty. I had the salmon 'cake' for a starter this was smaller than I had imagined but it was sufficient considering the upcoming main course. The baked camembert was the other starter which also was enjoyed. The slow cooked lamb shoulder fell apart with the highest of touches and melted in the mouth. The rump steak recommended by our waiter was more medium rare than the medium ordered but that was far from an issue as the meat was succulent (their steak knives needed sharpening, we requested to try another but that was no better, with thanks we accepted a serrated fruit knife which easily did the job). It's nice to see that people are prepared to think outside the box to resolve the issue! This is my favorite 'expensive' restaurant and therefore rarely visited, a pint of ale, double G&T, 2 starters, 2 mains a bottle of Tattinger Rosé and a coffee came to £135 wholly worth the money. Great atmosphere, experienced staff (99% of whom smiled), a superb menu of favourite food cooked to perfection and pleasant co-diners. We're likely to return early December for another celebration. Thank you The Highwayman. 👌👌👌😊

Had tea here at 5pm on a Saturday, initially when we walked in, it was really busy and noisy. However, we were shown to our table in a quieter area, which was great. All the staff we encountered were very polite and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious, as was the German large. Can not wait to revisit. Perfect service and lovely produce.

This was the best meal and service I have had in a very long time. From the time I booked to the end of the night the service was impeccable. This restaurant offers high class food with a very relaxed atmosphere, the food was outstanding presented beautifully and served fresh, piping hot and quick with a lovely choice to pick from. We were here for my mothers 80th birthday and there was 12 of us and nothing was too much. All our food arrived at the same time and nobody was disappointed. We were sat in the private room which was lovely as we were able to move around without disturbing other customer's. I would definitely recommend you to try here if you are thinking about somewhere special at an affordable price. 5* for service and food

We went for our first visit with our friend who is local. The service, food & atmosphere was perfect. I had the cheese, onion & potato pie which was excellent and my husband had the boar, pork & apple pie which was delicious too. The coconut rice pudding was a dream as was the cheese. Also dog friendly as well, our dog Scout appreciated that! Overall, a lovely evening. Would definately recommend to people visiting the area!

What a fantastic place, what polite people, what incredible food! We came here for my wife's birthday a few weeks ago and I had to come here to say how amazing this place is, it's worth the travel, it's worth the cost. Our waitress was amazing (I think she was new and a little unsure on some things but I've been there and know it can be a little overwhelming at first) she was a little nervous at first but opened up by the end and was quick to get whatever we asked for. The food is perfect. Good portions and very well presented. I can't wait to go back!
