Have been a few times and the service is good. Even when they are busy. Food is fresh. A nice place to go for some good English food. Best to reserve a table as they do get full often.
Outstanding. Staff are amazing. Very friendly and always willing to assist. The food is excellent and great value for money with a wide variety on the menu. We booked a group for my sons 18th birthday and the Staff were extremely helpful. They made the dining area look fabulous with the balloons and banners we'd provided. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable evening and highly recommended. Thank you.
Nice upstairs room for slightly separate group celebration. Congratulations to our waiter who coped very well serving 12 customers single handed, running up a flight of stairs!!! Food tasty. Shame a lot of the deserts were not available due to menu change? Bad planning?

We love this place, whether it be for just a drink or a meal. They cater for absolutely everyone. The building inside and out is absolutely beautiful, really cosy, feels like home. The staff are extremely friendly, the food is absolutely amazing, never been disappointed. Nice big carpark. Couldn't recommend this place enough.

Extremely impressed. I am disabled and staff couldn't have been more helpful without making a fuss. Good choice of food and drink. I had sea bream which was cooked perfectly. It also came with samphire, not often seen on menus which was also cooked perfectly.
All our meals were really nice. Great front of house and kitchen staff.
Love a trip to the Dovecote - one of my favourite local(ish) pubs. I visited here fairly regularly and have never had a bad experience. Fresh, tasty food and really good portions! The black and blue steak is a particular favourite.
Popped in today the staff were lovely and pleasant the place itself is very nice, It has a decent beer garden too.
I absolutely love this place! Staff are very friendly. They did the food for my late husband's funeral, and it was 100% first class

Visited The Dovecote for the first time today with a friend, I have driven past many times on my commute, and wanted to give it a go. Booking is advised (as is anywhere on a Sunday). We booked for 12pm & were taken to our table promptly, and waiting staff were very attentive.
The selection of lagers and wines were good, and arrived ice cold (which was great in the current weather). These guys know how to pull a decent pint!
It was nice to see that the full menu was on offer on a Sunday, as many pubs do not do this in the area and stick to serving carvery alone. I opted for the 'Black and Blue Burger' and my friend for the Chicken in Stilton Sauce. Both dishes were well presented and extremely tasty, and arrived very quickly! If I was being nit picky, I would say that my burger was slightly overdone for my taste; however, the overall dish was lovely.
I will definitely be returning here for food. The interior is classy and cosy, and there is a large beer garden (which is always a bonus).

We had a Christmas lunch for 15 people with pre orders of 2 or 3 courses each. Some of the meals could have done with being a bit hotter but mine was absolutely fantastic and all the meals were really nicely presented. The portion sizes were very generous for all three courses. Overall it was a great experience for a large group which isn't always the case.
Visited 21st Nov in the evening. Never been for food before but it was so good. Great choice and they do a Sunday carvery which will certainly be trying. Service was great and although it was busy we felt very well looked after. Had steak and ale pie and couldn’t fault it. Give this place a try.

Andy was brilliant- friendly quick and efficient service. Really nice food - had the lunchtime tikka kebab - delicious and just right amount. Will definitely return.
One of my new favourite places. The friendly welcoming, not pushy, staff alongside great menu...whatever I choose I have food envy.....nothing has disappointed.... sparkly setting ...open and airy whilst maintaining cosy atmosphere... and great value...
We ordered food for a takeaway collection. They have children's menu, and I was impressed with the choices available for vegetarians, food was packaged appropriately and still warm when we brought it home. They forget to give us sauces that were stated on the menu, but other than that we were happy with our food and service.
This was the second time we had been in the Dovecote for a Sunday lunch, and this time was 100% better than the last time.
Service was fast efficient and very friendly.
Meat was great (beef), it was late in the day but the veg was plentiful and still nice.
