We called in for a meal on the off chance we'd get a table. We were seated straight away and drinks ordered. We both had the soup which was superb with lovely warm bread. After stuffing ourselves with the mains we unfortunately didn't have room for pudding.😠The servers were attentive, but left us to eat in peace. A very nice 1st visit and we'd go back again.
The carpark is good and disabled parking was immediately outside the door which was also wheelchair friendly. Lots of space to move in and I checked the toilets too. They were nice and clean and a good disabled cubicle too.
Came in on my lunch break and it wasn't long before I was seated. I asked if they would have time to serve me before I have to go back to work and they made sure I got my food and drink in plenty of time. Very friendly, lovely atmosphere, checked for any allergies and the food was fab as always! (I had the steak pie with a cloudy lemonade) Thank you for making sure I was well cared for :)
Excellent, dog friendly family pub restaurant with board games available. We had a lovely dinner break here on the way to the ferry. Would highly recommend. Look forward to going back.
Our waiter was very approachable and communicative, even when there was an issue with the meal we ordered he came to give us feedback in timely manner, offered replacement and any discounts. He also interacted we Ty our children and was very interested in what they had to say to. We have had a very tasty meal in well kept pub with very good service. Couldn't ask for more.
Brilliant staff, Lisa and mollie were fantastic, good food although no steaks, and double portions of custard was very much welcomed.
So their forgiven for not having steaks.
Highly recommended and we'll definitely be going back.
Went for a late tea with the kids and was great.
Got seated even though we hadn't booked, and they put us so could see the kids playing from the table, food was lovely cooked well and fast.
All in a very good pleasant meal and will definitely go back.
Wasn't sure what to expect as dropped in without looking as we pass it often in the car.
Food is decent, but on the high end for what I would describe as pub grub. They are better places to eat for the money, but I would eat there again.
Decent drinks menu though not all was in stock.
Also, some confusion over the menus when we were there as there was 2 different versions and the server had to check which was the correct menu.
A good meal. Service was efficient, friendly and welcoming. Good selection of drinks on offer. Good menu. I had the sausage and mash and it was great. I had the Chocolate Brownie Sundae and this was a little disappointing as the brownie to ice cream ratio was wrong.
The very lovely Jake and team gave us excellent service and we had a really nice lunch.
All good, would recommend for a pleasant meal experience.
Lunched here today, we were seated immediately, given menus and ordered drinks, which arrived quickly. Took a while for our food order to be taken, once they knew we had to be in Chester in the afternoon the food was served very quickly, and was very tasty. Dessert was served as soon as we'd finished our mains, which is worth a visit just for that! Eager to please friendly staff. Recommend! :-)
We had booked for a large party of 22 people for a surprise retirement meal. The staff were really lovely and helpful both before hand when booking and with requests we had (such as bringing balloons and a cake with us) and also on the day. Thank you so much for a great experience!!
Stopped off here, by chance, on our way back from a day out in Chester with an American friend. Lovely atmosphere- cosy but not crowded. The staff were the friendliest people ever and the food was delicious. We'll definitely be back.
Great play area for kids and large beer garden.
Great pub experience. Staff very attentive and welcoming as soon as we entered and waited on us very promptly and efficiently. I Was pleasantly surprised by the service and has a nice kids play area to get adults some peace. Photo of the potato cheese and leak pie with sweet potato chips.
Very friendly staff. We arrived as a VW group, and they made every effort to fit 12 of us in at no notice, and the food we ordered was quick and tasty. Defo use it again.
Excellent service as always. My partner and I have been many times wether its been for meal or just drinks and the service has always been top notch. Friendly staff and atmosphere. Our visit was due to my brother and his kids visiting and it was the first place I suggested based on past experiences
