The Sunday Roast today was 10/10. I don’t say that lightly as I am a big roast dinner fan! So tasty and such good value. The gluten free option for my son was great as well. Complements to the chef

The Cheshire Cat.. a Beautiful Hotel, Pub and Restaurant within the amazing town of Nantwich... Having arrived the staff were very helpful, explaining about the private car park, ideal. (Don't get confused with the pay and display car park nearby) During check in; again staff were approachable, attentive, polite and extremely lovely. We were aware of the noise alert prior to booking, and yes whilst there was some noise at night, it was not as bad as we had thought. The pub has various places to sit, both indoors and out.... It is just lovely. Our room was compact, double bed with a unit either side, one with a lamp. Opposite was a desk and chair, along with mirror and TV. We found it difficult to watch the TV because there was not anywhere to put the chair.. so slightly awkward. There was a wardrobe with ironing board, iron and coat hangers. The wet room... this was our only negative.. it appeared dirty and dated. We would suggest it is old, and could imagine in looked modern and sleek when first installed.. too be honest the floor needs a good deep clean or replacing. It is good that hand wash, body wash, shampoo and hand cream was provided. Everywhere else was very clean. Breakfast, for breakfast we had to take the spiral staircase up. We were seated and given a breakfast menu option to choose from.. breakfast was fabulous.. the scrambled eggs on toast with salmon was nice, albeit the egg was a little dry. Overall a lovely place to stay, have a beer or eat. Great location, walking distance to the town, for a river walk or to the canal to look at the boats. The service / staff were fantastic.

Had a late midday breakfast. We were the only people in the place but felt comfortable. I had salmon and scrambled eggs and my wife had a full English. The salmon might have been a touch old but tasty all the same. Nice old pub, coaching house and would go back.

Had our first visit to the Cheshire Cat in Nantwich. Absolutely wonderful experience! Service was prompt and friendly. Great atmosphere. Food was amazing. Had the made in house lasagna, and wow was it good. My partner had the steak. Well paired sides, and lots of unique (and familiar favourites) on the menu. Hats off to the chef, and serving staff. We will be back! Loved the building and decor as well. Very nice ambiance.

This is the first time we have stayed at the Cheshire Cat but we enjoyed our stay so much we have booked again for the 2nd of September! The Hotel is in a fantastic spot right in the Centre of Nantwich meaning we didn't need to have the hassle of getting cabs everywhere! We got a lovely, warm welcome from the Team in the Bar (which is also where you check in) and after checking into our fab room, very clean and also AC we went downstairs and into the Beer Garden. The service was excellent & the drinks were great. We didn't have Sunday lunch because we were going out but the food going to other tables looked lush! We had a very pleasant sleep and stay and we had a real treat in the morning! Full English for me and Veggie English for Mrs K. The best part of the breakfast experience was how very well looked after we were by Elaine. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt very spoilt. Elaine has a great sense of humour too and being looked after so well was the icing on the cake for us! Thanks Team Cheshire Cat!

Great atmosphere. A little slow being served but not excessive. It was busy. 4 different areas. Dance floor, covered outside area, quiet side room and the main bar. Spent an enjoyable Friday and Saturday evening their and met some lovely people. If in the area would definately return.

Went to the Cheshire Cat for dinner, food was amazing! Halloumi fries was a good starter and portion was quite big. Salmon was perfectly cooked and brownie for dessert was just perfect!

Went for a meal and our friend was staying at the hotel. Steak pie and sticky toffee pudding were good but not great as was the service. Our friend said the accommodation was great and they plan to stay again. Prices are reasonable and a good location. Overall worth a try.

We booked a table for 13 on Sunday 16th October for Sunday lunch, we hadn't been here before and had travelled from north Wales to meet up with family who had come over from Australia, who were looking forward to a Sunday lunch over here, the food was great and everyone enjoyed the meal, the service was superb and the young waitress who took our orders was great, nothing was too much trouble.I have a gluten intolerance so I went for the salmon which is gluten free but I also have other intolerancies so with the young lady going back and forth to speak to the chef, they come up with the perfect meal for me. It can be hard going out for something to eat sometimes when you have dietary requirements but not on Sunday. Thankyou

We visited the Cheshire Cat for the first since our first date there over 40 years ago, It has changed a lot! But they have managed to retain all the history and charm of the original building. We had a loveley meal

Thankyou to the staff at the Cheshire Cat in Nantwich - you absolutely deserve the 5 star review. We stopped in for lunch as a family today and it was an amazing experience. The staff are incredibly friendly, the food amazing and thankyou for making us feel so welcome. Super impressed at how pet friendly it is too - even cooking a mini burger for our puppy!!

Stayed for 2 nights and had 2 rooms. One room was renovated and one wasn't. Food in the evening was good and breakfast was ok too. I would say the place is a little on the expensive side but if they manage to renovate all their rooms then that would be a massive plus.

Popped in for an early evening meal. Good choice of food. We both had 3 courses and drinks. Came to just under £100 so can't grumble with that. Everything we had was very tasty, with good size portions as well. The Bao Buns starter was brilliant.

Edit: We've been back a few times since my original review and I've nothing but good to say about the service and the food during those visits. A great menu, something for everyone without being overwhelming. The service was prompt and friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our recent experiences 😍🍲. Original review: The food is very good, service can be slow at times. We've eaten there a few times and it's consistent at least. Great atmosphere with loads of historic features that are well preserved. Our last couple of visits, ordered drinks didn't arrive. I would go back again as it's not a bad place but I think better care needs to be taken for diners

Visited on Bank Holiday Monday early afternoon after a lovely walk round nantwich. Quiet and relaxed. Drinks were reasonably priced at around £9 for a double gin and mixer, £3 for a coffee We didn't eat on this occasion or stay over, I have however given them full stars because we have on a past visit and couldn't fault it! When we stayed, we were in the round room at the top (can't remember what it was called). Lovely place, beautiful building, helpful pleasant staff and foods good, can get crazy busy at weekends and usually music on - only advice if you're tall watch your head! 🫣🤣 I would definitely recommend 👌

Love how this place was converted many years ago. Good blend of old and new. Very impressive. Sat outside on Nantwich Jazz and Blues Saturday. Very nice outside area with comfortable booths. A dedicated area for purchasing food. Enjoyed our time there v busy of course but still a pleasant atmosphere.

Hi, We booked a table for four people tonight at 18:30pm and I must say the level of service has really gone down hill! To start off with when we first arrived my partner went to get us all drinks at the bar downstairs and three young female staff were stood down at the end of the bar talking to each other. My partner had to ask the Bartender to get their attention to serve us two to as he was busy serving other customers. We went upstairs as we had a table booked for 18:30pm only to be greeted by a female staff member with a love bite on her neck that was very prominent. She then realised she couldn’t operate the laptop because she was new so we were greeted by another new member of staff. We started ordering our food and my partner asked three times not to put hot sauce on the chicken wings and for sweat chilli on the side. The waitress confirmed that she understood. The appetisers took ages to arrive and when they did there was hot sauce on the chicken wings. We asked another member of staff to who seemed more experienced to replace the wrong order. She proceeded to inform us that there were 4 trainees on tonight who had only 4 day’s experience. When the replacement chicken wings came it was really greasy! We then waited until after 8pm to eventually get our four main meals and Unfortunately the hand cooked chips were rock hard on two of the fish and chip meals and were white in the middle like they had not been defrosted. No one came to the table and asked how our meals were or to offer anymore drinks. My partner flagged down the same waitress that we assumed had more experience to inform her of the quality the chips who offered to get more chips however my partner had finished his fish as was not prepared to wait any longer after waiting for his starter to be re cooked. After that conversation We waited and waited and we could see the staff in the staff area talking and no one checking on tables! There were empty glasses on numerous tables which we found very frustrating. We then got up as no one came with the bill or apologises or a discount and went to the staff area upstairs to ask for the bill. Very unprofessional and disappointed as we had a quest over from Thailand and we chose your restaurant as one of the best in the area. Not the Cheshire Cat experience we are used to!
