Understated cool atmosphere with very fine cuisine.
Starter of boudin with apples was excellent. Main course of seafood carbonara was to die for. Good wine list reasonably priced. Perfect service. Even the Duchesse was well pleased.
This was an awesome place, the food was excellent and the staff were very attentive. Simply put it could not have been better. I would highly recommend a visit.
Thank you again for a wonderful evening. My wife and I enjoyed another anniversary meal with excellent food and service. Your hospitality was first rate.
If we lived in this area, we would make this superb bistro our regular. Great food, wine, cocktail menu choices. Friendly and efficient staff, great ambience.
It's always my favourite place to eat dinner in Nairn, great staff and the best cocktails! Thanks Fiona and Willie.
Went here for a meal last night when staying over on businesss, and dcided to go back again tonight for another fantastic meal. Good choice of menu, freindly staff, great interior and reasonibly priced. Fantastic steak.
Diffinately be back. Well done to all staff.
First time eating it at the classroom and certainly won’t be the last!great service and the food was amazing!couldnt recommend higher!
Thank you. We had a fantastic evening last night, great food, fantastic service, wonderful staff! Very attentive and very impressed with staff continually replacing the water bottles. A simple thing, to not have to ask, but a service automatically provided was noticed by all. Well done The Classroom!
Lovely surroundings, really top notch food and friendly staff. Been before and will be back.
Dined here today with 2 friends. Everything was perfect. Eniz our server was excellent, very efficient and friendly. She's an asset to this business
Lovely meal .. very attentive staff . Would definitely recommend
Lovely cocktails, lovely decor and amazing friendly chatty staff. Would recommend xxx
Absoloute first class me tonight. Service was great even though it was busy. And girls enjoyed the cocktails. First class.
Rolled into Nairn Sunday afternoon, not many places serving food. I ended up here & had the Sunday roast, fantastic!!! Absolutely delish! Highly recommend the food here. Service was excellent also! Gave 3 stars for the atmosphere as it was a very rainy Sunday, probably more happening on a Friday or Saturday night. They also serve my fav cider ;)
Good food at typical prices for the area. As with most places in the area wine is relatively expensive.
Always busy whilst there, staff did a good job and food arrived in good time.
Bao bun starter was great, very tasty. Main was the seafood platter. A bit heavy with the batter and portion size, chowder was the highlight.
Would recommend and will go again.
Amazing food, beautiful presentation and absolutely delicious. Service was great and atmosphere was perfect. Highly recommend!
The food stood out as excellent here. The Salt Trout and its accompaniments was brilliant - the plate was swept clear. The mackerel pate was on point (if a touch on the small size for a portion) and the sirloin was cooked excellently. Wines were interesting and fairly priced and cocktails were novel and experimental. Would recommend and will return.
Service was good, very friendly. Roast was very good - the veg were seasoned perfectly and a size of a portion was good. I'd only roast the potatoes to get a crispier skin. A side of horseradish sauce would make it perfect. Desert (apple tart) was a bit lazy but all ice cream we tried were fantastic!
Loved our meal and drink. The person behind the bar/ serving us was very polite and efficient. Food was good.
On a visit to Nairn, we decided to escape a brief rain shower and decided to have an early lunch. The Classroom was nearby and had many good reviews. I can only confirm that. The jerk chicken sandwich was very good and quite large. I did not need dessert. The staff was very nice and the restaurant was comfortable.
Had a super nice dinner at the Classroom Bistro and would totally return when the opportunity occurs.
The people there were extremely helpful and friendly. Food was delicious and local beer incredible.
Great spot! Dog friendly 🐕
I thoroughly enjoyed the service, food and atmosphere. It misses out on 5 stars as it is understaffed and we had to wait to be seated even when the establishment only had 3 tables in use. So when it gets busy I can see they would struggle. We loved the beers and selection of food on offer, the service was lovely. The food was worth the wait and was cooked fresh. We noted online that some people had said their's had been reheated/or/microwaved. Ours was not, it was way above average and tasty. Portion size was average but not under. We did have to chase to pay as the person at the bar was on the phone a lot. It made ordering extra drinks and a pudding difficult hence the four star rating so we left earlier than we would have liked as we didn't want to wait. Overall this establishment and the Sun Dancer in Nairn are better than anything in Inverness has to offer by far and for the matter any of the surrounding areas too ! So they have my vote. Well done, we will be back!!!!
Very nice food. Although there is a very limited mene, so be sure to research what's on offer before arriving to ensure you are catered for. The small menu is a clear indication of quality, however, seeing as everything our party ordered was very fresh and pleasant. I had the battered fish bites to start and the (prawn linguine?), which were both lovely.
Excellent food and for me the portion seemed pretty big as I‘m stuffed after the seafood platter. The staff is also very friendly and it‘s comfy inside. Have a look at the funny Mocktails names when you are there.
Cannot fault the food or the hospitality here. I loved our experience and would gladly return again. The food was exceptional. Laura and the service team were a delight. What I would say is that I feel one more extra member of staff would have made this a 5 star review. There was a delay from being seated to being served and even offered a drink. Our food arrived before our drinks. And there was a notable delay between courses. But saying this, it was a busy night, and i wouldn't hesitate on returning.
Absolutely fantastic meal and superb service.
Had a very long lunch there today.. the food was excellent and the service & ambience great.
The Trawlerman's Platter went very well with the white Rioja!
Great sized portions and very tasty food.
Nice atmosphere and couldn't fault the food when it came. They were accommodating when it came to allergies. Took 50 minutes for mains to arrive but hopefully that shows it was cooked fresh. Probably wouldn't have noticed the long wait if we'd had starters. This place had been recommended to us and give lack of local choice for similar places I might go again if I was back in the area.
We had the Cullen Skink (a wee bit salty), steamed mussels - good; chicken stuffed with haggis - good.
Salad a bit over the top with olives and a little heavy on the salt.
Excellent service, friendly staff, and a nice atmosphere.
Nice selection of drinks and the menu says they offer cocktail making classes for 24 pounds - which includes 3 drinks you’ll make. Too bad, no chance to go for that.
Give it a try - I think you’ll like it. It’s a busy place, so reservations are recommended, although we were able to get a table after about a 30 minutes wait at the bar.
The bistro is a nice restaurant and I would certainly come back again. The food was great - I had the herring to start (a special) and the salmon as a main). Nice selection of drinks too. Service was good - not super fast and we were left waiting to order for quite a while, and left waiting for our dirty plates to be collected for quite a while, but the wait staff were kind throughout! Not cheap but worth it
