Just love this little funky place in the heart of Nailsworth. The coffee and food are excellent and it reminds me of something on Portobello Road in London. Love it. On top of that The Canteen hosted my husband's 50th at a private evening function and our guests and family loved the atmosphere, food and service. Somewhere different, cosy and quirky.

Fantastic cakes and hot chocolate. Many thanks to the wonderful staff for going through packets of ingredients to make sure things were safe for my egg allergic son even though they were incredibly busy. I have a feeling we will be back.

I came today for a drink and cake with family and my four month old baby. I just wanted to say a big thank you to the staff member who defended me against the lady that came over to have a go at me for changing my baby in the cafe. We asked if they had a baby change and they did not but they said they were happy for me to change her as it's not nice for a baby to sit in a dirty nappy. Glad I was backed up by staff as not many places would do this. On a different note the cakes are lovely and will be returning with my baby in tow again Great customer service.

This is a quirky find. Lots of vegan and dairy free options available together with nice fresh bread. There is plenty of seating and a lovely shop over 3 floors to explore! Had poached eggs and baked beans (odd combination I know but safe for my allergy’s) but it took ages (coffee well gone!) and then the yolks were hard and so were the baked beans, the beans weren’t too hot either. I did raise this, the waitress apologised, and said she would mention to the chef. Coffee was nice as was the DF cake. The shop is great for unusual gifts.

Beautiful little place tucked out the way inbetween two old industrial buildings. The history of which I found fascinating. Quirky layout and decor it had a really nice feeling to it. Super busy for lunch time, we managed to get there just before lunch time, plenty of seating outside with most of it under cover. Staff were friendly and polite. Food was excellent and came out quick. Nice selection of freshly made cakes and treats to choose from. Definitely visit the store next door also.

Today I took my 2 young children to The Canteen for lunch. I sat on a table near to the children's toys and it was absolutely lovely to be able to relax while they were fully engaged playing with the beautiful wooden dolls house and Duplo. I chose the Turkish Brunch an oat milk cappuccino and a slice of the Persian love Cake plus a sausage roll for my son. (My 2 year old shared my lunch with me and there was more than enough to feed the three of us!) Fantastic value for money! The Persian Love Cake was devine and not too sweet, just perfect, I highly recommend visiting this character filled, vibrant, cafe nestled in the middle of Nailsworth, I love how simple but carefully curated, flavour wise the menu is too, everything sounds delicious, I look forward to trying some more yummy dishes there soon!

5full stars The display is populated by generous and nice looking cake, scone, etc Discovered by chance and just finish a slide of apple pie that brought me back on the time I was a kid and my family would make it. Dogs are welcome Inside and outside space A small playground area for kids On the public access road parking is free for 2h

What a lovely little gem in Nailsworth! I had a delicious Turkish breakfast, cappuccino and persian cake! Everything was on point, although the cake was too sweet for my taste. Big variety of bakes, cakes and a diverse breakfast menu! The staff was very friendly. It’s one of the main highlights of my first visit to Nailsworth. Love it :) P.S.: If you’re coming with your dog(s), make sure you break something soft for them to lay on. The ground there is rocky and there’s nowhere for them to sit.

This is a real hidden gem! Tucked away between two streets and behind a few of Nailsworth's characteristic independent shops is this wonderful cafe that feels somewhat TARDIS like - a lot more space inside than you'd expect. Very friendly service and clever to have the coffee barista placed opposite the till - a refreshing move of unusual efficiency for a cafe! Nice coffee & tea. Giant scone was delicious - sadly they had no cream. Maybe next time!

Excellent quality food, the cakes here are some of the best I have ever tasted and I have travelled around the world. I had a spiced pumpkin cake, it was so moist and fresh. I will be having many more now I have moved to the area. I'm also looking forward to going back to try a breakfast.

Long time fans of the canteen. Always visit a few times every time we’re in the cotswolds. They were fab with my specific dietary requirements and adapted menu items to suit my needs. Friendly staff and wonderful setting.

Great atmosphere and coffee. Classy and rustic decorations make the experience even better. It's one of our favourite places :) the only minus is that kitchen closes at 2:30 and if you are few minutes late you will not be served.
