We are so fortunate to have such a fab pub and restaurant a few minutes drive from Newton Meadows.
We had an exceptional Mother’s Day lunch at the Red Lion in Myddle and cannot recommend it highly enough to our guests.
It’s such a convivial atmosphere at the bar for a pre (and post!) lunch-time drink with comfy seating around a very inviting, cosy fire, perfect on a cold day. And of course it is equally inviting in the evening.
We had the Sunday Lunch menu and our roast lamb was delicious, followed by sticky toffee pudding and bread and butter pudding…… perhaps not great for the waist-line but tremendous for the soul!
They have a great menu, extensive selection of beers, wines and spirits and great staff to make sure your experience is memorable.
We didn’t have children or grandchildren with us on that particular occasion but we know it is very family friendly with room outside to allow children to expend a little energy.
We'll be back and it could be sooner rather than later with the family coming here for the Easter holidays.
Well refurbished with plenty of seating options from a meal by the wood burners to an open dinning room. Staff are friendly and very attentive. Food is amazing and has never disappointed. Highly recommend to anyone who wants a lovely meal out. Also great for social drinks.

We had our wedding at the Red lion 12th May, I don’t know how we can put into words what a amazing day Pete and Jackie gave us! From the word go , a few catch ups With them and they were easy to deal with, great advice and generally were brilliant , the day itself was amazing, everyone commented on the amazing buffet, Real ales were spot on and the pub looked absolutely beautiful, we also stayed in the lodge which is a lovely little hideaway! So many people had a input to our day but Pete and Jackie without a doubt made it the day it was for us. I know they will kill me for saying this but the Red lion makes a great wedding venue �� we cant Thankyou enough xxxxxx Nic and Ross
The staff were excellent we hadn't booked but they still accommodated us we were a party of eight, staff looked after us especially Finn... Food was excellent my steak was cooked just as I asked for...I had cheesecake which was very yummy. The other ladies all enjoyed their meals also... will be going back and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
One of the best meals I've eaten! reasonably priced, perfect cooked and presented...Couldn't fault anything of our visit, extremely friendly and efficient. Layout and setting were perfect, compliments to chef and his team and the front of house. Can't recommend enough!
Just moved to Myddle from Wem and had a great 3 course meal excellent value. Three of us had the early bird menu and one had the main menu. Will definitely be back
Very good food, enjoyed our starter of pate, then roast dinner really enjoyed it best one I've had in a long time, would definetly go back

Just discovered this little gem! Husband and I popped in for dinner and were seated in the restaurant which was lovely and relaxed with beams and candles. Food all home made and beautiful and a fabulous atmosphere. Will definitely return �

We went to the Red Lion Monday after passing it a few times previously. We didn't book a table and we had our baby with us too. The moment we walked in we could not have been made to feel more welcome. The staff were very polite and attentive. They made a fuss of our little one who was busy making a mess and tucking into his sweet potatoe fries which the chef kindly pushed forward and brought out himself. Everything was fantastic. The service and quality of the food was 5* and that is coming from a very fussy person! We will definitely be returning!
Had a meal last night could not fault it. It was delicious 😋 Everything was 5 star from start to finish. I would just like to say the young lady who served us was a credit to the team. My husband and friend ordered the cajun chicken burger at this point the young lady said what a good choice as this was her favourite. We will be back I'm sure.A big thumbs up from us all.
Second visit in a month, this visit was to celebrate an 80(ish) birthday and our small party really enjoyed the visit. We had a particular request for the table, which they fulfilled. The service was great, friendly, patient and timely. The food was excellent.
We will definitely be back soon. Well worth a detour if you are in the area.
Absolutely outstanding. Food was delicious and the service was excellent. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere. 7 of us ate here and not one complaint - not even a little one. Definitely a good idea to pre-book as it does get busy. Highly recommended
We visited the Red Lion last night for a meal with friends and it was excellent. Fab food delivered with friendly, thoughtful service and perfect atmosphere. We will definately return soon.
Had a fantastic experience - everything was first class, beers were excellent , the food was superb, great value for money and the service was exemplary. The staff have obviously been well trained and were a credit to the place ( well, except they sold the last pie to someone else, " in joke! )
