Nice pub, beer is good. Warm welcome. We've not tried the food yet, but the menu looks good. We will definitely be going back.
Only popped in for lunch. Staff so friendly and helpful. We just had baguettes but they were very tasty and very good value. The Ledbury Bitter was an excellent pint.
Worth a visit if you're passing
Hadn't visited for 7 years or so, but still the same very professional, friendly, and attentive service. We had a lasagne and a steak pie. Both were good portions and very tasty. Followed by a lovely cheesecake. 0% beer available and dog friendly. The family who run it obviously love dogs.
Had lovely tea tonight, this came with big salad too. Am on slimming world so did not want chips, onion, rings, etc. Asked if chef could flavour my steak with garlic and he served some roasted garlic on side. Was all spot on, many thanks 😋
We called in to the Axe and Cleaver for lunch on our way home from North Wales to Berkshire. Although it was nearly 2pm they were happy to cook for us. The food was lovely, my husband said it was the best fish and chips he had had for a long time. We would definitely go there again.
Good food, great setting and even nicer staff. Can't thank the owner more for offering to drop me and my boyfriend off after walking to Axe&Cleaver due to the time and weather. Much appreciated. Will definitely go back.
Had a lovely Sunday lunch, staff were very friendly and courteous, good price. Looking forward to going again. Next time we are going to try the full menu which looked excellent
Lovely friendly staff, good Covid measures in place. Has a specials board as well as the Menu. Which on this occasion had Beef rib lollipop with cheesy mash and onion rings which was absolutely huge !!! So plenty of beef left for a doggy bag, which they are happy to do and wrap up for your furry fri
The Axe and Clever Pub, is family run, The food is excellent and the atmosphere is that of a traditional pub. The welcome is warm, the food is wonderful, enjoy
