Best food I’ve had in such a long time! Staff are always friendly and go out of their way to accommodate, the food is always bang on but tonight was absolutely amazing. Pan seared duck breast stir fry was to die for, cooked to perfection. But the best thing about the meal was the dessert, coffee parfait with toasted cinnamon waffle chunks! Best desert I’ve ever had hands down. Would 100% recommend! Whether you’re after fine dinging or spot on pub grub- this place really has it all

Went to day with the family for the first time today and have to say we will definitely be coming back. Food was lovely we did have to wait for food but it was really busy and the staff never stopped for breath and coped with how busy it was. When our food came there was no complaints quality and a generous portions for all my son had the kids roast of the day he is a good eater but even this defeated him I had a taste of the beef and it melted in your mouth. he likes his gravy and when we asked for more (as he will eat more with it) the young waitress didn't hesitate to get some more and he was tucking in even more. the deserts were ordered and again when we got them we weren't disappointed they were lovely. So your staff and chef are a credit to your pub.

Popped in for Sunday lunch after reading the good reviews. 6 adults and a child. We ordered 6 Sunday lunches of beef, lamb, pork and chicken and a childs chicken nuggets, chips and beans. All arrived with a good selection of veg on the plates and a good portion of meat and gravy. My wife had a small Sunday lunch which was ample for her. There was also a jug with extra gravy brought to the table. The meat was melt in the mouth and the veg cooked to perfection. The childs chicken nuggets were home made as were the chips, looked delicious and were polished off. For afters there was a tea, coffee, mango and apricot cheesecake, ice cream and an apple crumble with double custard. All this and it came to less than 10 pound per head. To top it all the staff are very efficient, professional and friendly, which to me. is as important as the food quality. As there is no booking service we arrived at 12:30 hoping for a 1pm slot. We were seated at 1:05 and there was a steady turn-over of people dining with the waiting time around the half hour mark. We will definitely be returning.

What a great find. Greeted by very friendly staff at the end of what had clearly been a busy lunch time service. Had to wait only 5 minutes for a table. Great varied menu and gorgeous food. Chicken and back pudding with a peppercorn sauce. Yum. There was just room to try the Mars chocolate cheesecake. Double yum!! Great food, great service, great pub.

I do like this pub. Lots of memories of great north bike rides and stopping here to rest. Motorbike trips up the coast and lunches on the way. The atmosphere is great. The staff are friendly. I didn't like the chips that's much...and that is my only downside. I prefer them to be crispy. If your passing by pop in. The food choice is also good and reasonably priced.

Had a recent visit here while we were in the area. Having struggled to find anywhere offering a good selection of vegan food it was a joy to come across this place that had a separate vegan menu. Choices - woo hoo! The food was excellent. If it had been closer to where we were staying we would have gone back several times. Added to that it is dog friendly so win win

Great pub, great food. It’s your archetypical english country pub with good friendly service. Plenty of parking too. Has some outdoor seating at the front on a large grassed area. I also like the supply of blankets for those chilly evenings and you insist on staying outdoors.

Absolutely brilliant meal. The dinner was delicious. I had fish and chips and they were cooked perfect. The roast dinners looked lovely. Plenty of dishes to choose from on the menu, also special meals of the day were on a board in the dining area. Try and leave room for a dessert, if you can. I had a twix cheesecake with cream. It was presented beautifully and tasted lovely. The restaurant was very clean. Would be better to reserve a table, as the Inn was busy. Plenty of car parking spaces.

Rarely leave reviews, but honestly the food & service was SO good felt obligated to. Had the nettle cheese roulade, was so tasty and the wholegrain dressing was absolutely banging. Staff friendly & polite , though they were young had EXCEPTIONAL customer service, ive seen people have years in the trade and not be as attentive as the staff here, should be very proud of your team ☺️

No booking but we'll worth the wait. Lovely food massive portions of meat. Its a pity some diners feel that it ok to sit and chat for ages after their meal, when people are waiting as they must have.

Fantastic country pub/Restaurant - A worthwhile visit. First thing to mention is, Pre book a table. It gets very busy and is not many tables just for walk ins, It can go from quiet to very busy within a few minutes. So I have been meaning to go for a while now, after hearing some good reports from various people on the food here. So I went and can safely say the food was fantastic! Our party had fish & Chips , Scampi and the Steak & Ale pie. All were superb! Just the right portion size to treat yourself to a desert afterwards too. The food was homemade, generous size and not full of chips which a lot of places do. All very tasty and came with in a reasonable time. As well as the main menu there is also an array of local chef specials on the board. The Chocolate brownie with the Sea Salt/Caramel Icecream was delicious, as well as the Ginger sponge and custard it is easily enough for two and very light. There is a wide variety of beers/ales etc to have but only a couple of largers, the usual for a local country pub. A great atmosphere is too be had here too. Again well worth a visit, you wont be disapointed in your over all experience. Also it is worth a mention that this is also a dog friendly pub.

Lovely pub, was busy when we visited, with a nice atmosphere. The food was excellent, staff friendly and efficient. Prices were reasonable too. The home made chips were lovely. Will definitely visit again.
