We stayed three nights at the Bell Inn as part of our 50th year anniversary trip. We could not recommend the Bell Inn more highly. John and his staff made us feel incredibly welcomed. Our room was comfy, the food was terrific (do not believe those who denigrate British food), and the staff was friendly and attentive. We loved the atmosphere in the pub. JR Tolkien would be proud to see how well the place has held up.

Best pub in town without a doubt! Friendly staff, very cozy, nice courtyard and well themed. The map of middle-earth on the wall was a really nice touch. The food was good and arrived swiftly, overall great service. Plus, the pub dog was adorable and friendly too. If you’re ever in the area and considering a pub to visit, The Bell Inn is the only right choice.

Great bear, friendly staff, and good service. When we visited, the restaurant was closed, but the alternative pizza menu was brilliant. The only sad bit was the lack of a Lord of the Rings information, it's the inspiration for the prancing pony in Bree, and maybe a themed pizza or beer and some info would really add to the experience... but that shouldn't detract from the fact that it's a lovely place, with good friendly service.

We stopped here whilst travelling around the Cotswolds looking at sights that inspired Tolkien whilst writing The Lord of the Rings. This is a lovely pub with some great bar staff. We had a few drinks which were reasonably price, sadly we didn’t get lunch as it was very busy and had an hour wait. So we looked at some of the old photos around the premises. We took some pics and chatted to some regulars. A great pub with the added bonus of being the inspiration for the Prancing Pony in Lord of the Rings

Drove up from Cornwall and had a great weekend staying at The Bell. The room was spacious, very clean and a very comfy bed. Lovely powerful shower too. Good selection of Ales and very friendly staff. A perfect place to stay. Excellent pub accommodation.

🔔 A Magical Journey to "The Bell"! Oh, my friends, let me share a tale of pure enchantment – my visit to "The Bell" was nothing short of a dream come true! ✨🏰 As a die-hard fan of The Lord of the Rings, stepping foot into the very place where J.R.R. Tolkien found inspiration was like entering a realm of fantasy. Picture this: the inn stands before you, cute and utterly unique, radiating a charm that's impossible to resist. 😍 The fact that I was treading on the same grounds that once welcomed the genius behind Middle-earth left me awe-struck and beyond thrilled. Every nook and cranny held whispers of the magic that once ignited Tolkien's imagination, and I couldn't help but feel a part of something extraordinary. The atmosphere was like a warm embrace, wrapping me in a cocoon of delight. My friends, consider this your call to adventure – I wholeheartedly recommend visiting "The Bell" and indulging in the wonder that awaits. Let yourself be swept away by the charm, the history, and the sheer joy of being in a place that feels like a page from a beloved tale. Here's to making memories as magical as this one – it's a journey you won't want to miss!

Popped in a couple of times during our stay in Moreton in Marsh. It's a nice pub with connections to Tolkien and the Lord of the rings. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the drinks and food were good. Dog friendly with treats on the bar, well worth stopping at if you're in the area.
