What an absolute gem. A beautiful cafe with a lovely garden at the back full of birds singing. A really lovely and varied menu and oh my - THE BEST SCONES I have ever had! Really friendly staff and everything is baked and prepared on site. Highly recommended and we would go back to Montgomery just for this cafe! Thank you so much.

Delicious food (especially the cakes) and generous portions. Cute atmosphere and very friendly staff, but service was quite slow. Hot Spiced Apple drink was incredible. Some vegetarian options but not a ton. Very few vegan options as the vegetarian stuff was mostly cheese but they did have a vegan cake.

Small but perfectly formed. Scones jam and clotted cream to die for. Pot of tea comes with extra hot water. Freshly baked cakes ... lovely. Montgomery is a beautiful town with a castle, gift shops , museums of local finds and a stunning view from the war memorial monument (go through wicket gate facing the castle car park) then turn left at the top of the path. For push chairs walk out of the castle car park turn right and then round a tiny bend there is a metal gate on the left, go through and walk straight to the top of the monument. You may need a breather on the way but stunning 360 degree views . Take a drink if it's a hot day.

Wonderful courtyard out the back - like a touch of mainland Europe in Wales! Amazing food and lovely ladies in the shop/kitchen. Very well recommended

A small cafe on Broad Street in Montgomery, the Castle Kitchen has been around since the mid 1980s. There is seating inside across two floors, and a small amount out front or in the grape vine lined courtyard at the back. Food and service are excellent, the cakes in particular are worth going for. The coffee is so so, but the range of teas is outstanding. There is a deli of local produce in the front of the cafe.

An oasis of calm with wonderful scones. Only regret is they are closed on Mondays.

Our favourite cafe. Lovely food, cakes, tea & coffee. Surprised by the comments of slow service, everyone can see the kitchen and the busy chefs preparing and cooking the food to order. A short wait for tastiest food in Powys!

Had a lovely lunch here today, food and drinks were fabulous, friendly staff, we weren’t rushed even though they were busy and near to closing time when we left, definitely go back and will recommend. Thank you

Cracking little cafe/village store. Lots character and bike friendly with a rack outside. There is more room upstairs.

Lovely cafe with nice food and coffee. Very busy which added to the atmosphere but this didn't affect the service at all

Love this place. All the staff are lovely, the food is tasty, and there is a nice little deli area at the front of the cafe with lots to choose from to take home. Wonderful little garden area too for warmer days. There is a regular menu and a daily specials board to choose from with plenty of drinks options (including some alcohol).
