Absolutely loved it here! We have visited Monmouth numerous times but we've never eaten here before. The staff were fabulous, so friendly and very helpful. They were fantastic with my young son who just wanted to toddle around the entire restaurant saying hi to everyone. The food was wonderful. Hot and very tasty. There were 8 of us so we were a large party and everyone enjoyed their meal. We had a few pasta dishes, moussaka and kleftiko, all were great. We will definitely be coming back here as we felt so welcomed and the food was definitely worth returning for.

Really good Greek and Italian food, a brilliant edition to the small number of restaurants in the town.

We had a lovely dinner at Amo’s this evening. It was a great deal and really delicious. We will definitely go again. We had the place to ourselves this evening, which seemed odd as it was such good value.

The last time I looked, Greece and Italy are at least 100 miles apart mainland to mainland. The culture and cuisines seem even further apart. Strange then that a restaurant opens in the pretty town of Monmouth providing both cuisines. Even stranger is a restaurant serving Italian food without a single Pizza on the menu! Let me put your mind at rest - Amo's restaurant provides excellent food from both cuisines and certainly no second best for either. We went early on a Saturday evening and only had six dishes so can't really make an in depth review of every one offered, but each dish was well presented and great quality. The restaurant itself is bright and decorated with bare wood interspersed with murals. Comfortable if a little noisy due to the general hubbub of the appreciative diners. Of the starters, the octopus is really the star - largest single tentacle I've seen with olive oil and lime dressing. Despite the size the meat was tender and juicy. The main courses were a little slow in coming but when they arrived we were bowled over. The linguine Da Vinci was very rich but so full of flavour - moussaka nicely browned and authentic. I went for the staple Greek salad and this simple dish was excellent - why is it so easy to screw up such a simple dish? All were washed down with a reasonably priced glasses of red and white wine and Mythos beer Worth a visit (as long as you don't want pizza!) - I'll certainly be going back.

Visited here for my dads 60th birthday and had a lovely family meal. The food was amazing and even my youngest child who is 4 and a fussy eater finished all of her bolognaise ! The service was friendly and the food arrived quickly. We will definitely be returning to Amos , Thank you for a great evening.
