Fabulous pop up dining. Best cheese for miles. Right up there with the best French artisan cheese. Wonderful setting and best cheese board for quite a while. Very best Welsh pastures can offer. So good we could have kept going. Just spent two weeks in France and this cheeseboard beats them hands down. Thank Tom and Co. for a wonderful evening. Ps Rose was very good.
Monmouth is full of coffee shops, but the best, by far, is Marches with outstanding coffee from a local roaster and a beautiful courtyard garden. The deli has a lot of local produce in the small space available with a wide range of cheese, gin, beer and cider (amongst many other things). The staff are helpful and highly knowledgeable.
What a fabulous place to go for lunch or even just a coffee and cake. Their coffees are great, but their home-made cakes are superb! Go on a sunny day and enjoy the delights whilst sitting in the walled garden. Staff are friendly, helpful and dedicated to their job. We loved this place! Thank you.
Lovely selection of food and drinks. Friendly helpful staff. Lovely courtyard/garden to sit and relax whilst having a meal or snack.
Best coffee in Monmouth. We absolutely love this place, in a hidden courtyard next to Waitrose - you MUST go here, Tom and the team are awesome
A little gem in the middle of Monmouth.
If you like small independent cafes selling local produce then this is the place for you.
We enjoyed cheeseboards, mixed cheese & meat platter, and a toast, followed by lovely cake and coffees.
The garden was delightful, occasionally spoiled by the Italian 'opera' blasting from the loudspeakers next door.
The food was excellent, the service warm and professional, and the prices reasonable.
A lovely find and helped me stay away from high-street chain cafes.
Simply the best Deli & coffee shop for miles around. Great young owners who are knowledgeable and dedicated. Treat it as a destination for a day out.
Coffee & cake currently in the lovely courtyard garden due to C19
Excellent choice of cheeses and chutneys. Bought a lovely selection for a Christmas present assisted by a lovely young lady who was very kind and helpful with my choices. Prices are very competitive and staff knowledgeable of their products. Also sell lovely bread. Highly recommended.
Marvelous cup of cappuccino. I'm on my hols but had to come back as the best coffee around. The courtyard is beautiful to sit in.
A walk in whilst in the area. Lovely ambience and Patrick and Freya were very welcoming. Interesting range of local craft beers and ciders. Highly recommended.
Wonderful Deli with a lovely variety of local Welsh produce. The owner Tom is so friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, absolutely brilliant customer service. A favorite of ours is Coedcanlas Blackcurrant Preserve and Tom very kindly gives me a call when it's back in stock and holds me a jar or two for when I next visit. Wonderful service!
One of my must places to come to in my time in Wales to stock up on our favorite items and lovely to gift family and friends . The selection of Welsh honeys and apple juices are also delightful!
Stumbled across this jewel in the crown on Monmouth High Street. Tom the owner was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Was able to sample local cheeses and make my selection based on Tom's advice and my personal tastes. We also were able to taste a selection of local spirits and ended up with a delicious spiced rum infused with seaweed as well as an organic gin also infused with seaweed.
An amazing independent shop, brimming with taste, uniqueness and a personal touch. Highly recommended!
So glad we found this place on a recent motorbike trip to Monmouth. Really friendly and knowledgeable staff couldn't have done more to make our time there welcome and enjoyable. Quite a small shop but crammed full of a great array of produce from all sorts of cheeses, to meats, chutneys, juices, local gins and whiskeys. We browsed the shelves taking it all and chatting to the staff member serving us. I thoroughly enjoyed a flat white and a cheese, prosciutto, red onion toasted sandwich, I got to select whichever cheese I wanted from the wide choice which was a nice touch. They have a tranquil suntrap garden/yard out the back with a lily pond that really sets the scene for a great little stop. Will most definitely make it a frequent stop whenever I'm in the area. Prices were reasonable.
Lovely cafe with an oasis garden. Really friendly, helpful staff that go out of their way to make your experience delightful. Fantastic coffee + cake. A Monmouth treasure
The food and service here is always good. The menu is mostly vegetarian, but not exclusively so. There is also a good choice of drinks, and the cakes are lovely. A great place to meet up with friends for lunch.
Good deli with local food. Smashing proprietor. Nice coffee shop in the back.
I can't really give a proper review of this place as it's a specialist cheese shop and I'm vegan. What I will comment on is the beautiful courtyard garden where I had a really lovely coffee and a delicious bowl of soup (vegan friendly) and great friendly service. A real hidden delight and will definitely come again.
Well worth a visit. Excellent products and local produce that you'll be hard pushed to find elsewhere. I regularly travel over 10 miles for the honey and the amazing unpasteurised cheese range (your always be offered a taste!). Services second to none and the sister store in Monmouth also boasts a small cafe and garden seating (in good weather).
We had lunch in Marches Cafe which is at the rear of their deli. A warm welcome and helpful staff. Good quality food, good selection, well presented and tasted delicious.
Beautiful sheltered garden.
Will definitely return.
Look out for the board on the pavement or you may miss it.
Highly recommended.
