We live in Cwmbran and popped into Monmouth last week to a show, so went for a quick break in Coffee 1, the man behind the counter "Tom" was awfully nice, a strapping lad but with lovely manners and a handlebar mustache to die for. The cakes were tasty and were served to us by a blonde bombshell of a lady who was also very polite and happy with a cheeky little smile. All in all a most enjoyable foray.

Nice coffee, even nicer staff. Visited yesterday with my sister-in-law, my 3 month old and her 9 month old. The male barrista was extremely lovely when I requested water for the babies bottle. Very accommodating and friendly. My only problem is the step to get into the shop, but as a market town I don't expect all the shops to be fully accessible.

How do you compare one coffee shop to another? The quality of the coffee taste is very much a personal preference and the snacks all look great. Of the three chain coffee shops (Costa & Nero being the others) this is my personal preference. Not too loud, toilet on the ground floor and friendly staff. Can't comment on the food as only had the Welsh cakes! There are other independent coffee places too.

My favourite coffee lounge in Monmouth. Lovely, friendly staff (especially April), great ambiance, comfortable seating and excellent coffee! A relaxing place to kill time or meet with friends. Highly recommended!

Lovely morning experience, spent some time with my little sister having our usual morning coffee and when she asked for a straw, the gentleman make the extra effort for 3 straws and she absolutely loved it, along with her choccy millshake and cake! By far her favourite coffee shop!
