Loved the homemade cakes. We tasted the coffee and walnut, chocolate fudge and my all time favourite, custard slice. All executed perfectly. Nice ambience by the canal. The tomato and basil soup was also delicious. Good service. Highly recommended for lunch and cakes.
A beautiful setting on a stunning morning. This was a lovely place for coffee and a light lunch following a fascinating walk. We ate outside in the swan, watching the swans. Coffee and lunch were delicious, even if the latter was a little slow.
We walked from Bathampton taking in the activity and the scenery along the canal. About 7 km. We stopped at the Angelfish for lunch on the recommendation of others. We enjoyed a relaxing lunch before checking out the aqueduct and heading back the way we came. Good service, well prepared meals. It was relaxing and spotlessly clean. Something for everyone on the breakfast and lunch menu. More signage would be helpful.
Lovely little cafe, with huge choice of hot and cold food, cakes, sweet treats and drinks selection. Nice little stop along the canal whilst walking around the area.
Handy stop off on way from Bath to Somerset/Dorset. Lovely walk along canal to the Aon and Kennett aquaduct too.
The Angle fish is set at the end of a canal stop just off the Avon and Kennet canal. Plenty of seating outside over looking the canal and many of the colourful barges. There is a good amount of parking which is a short walk to the Angle fish. Staff are friendly, and food well presented. We only stayed for a sandwich and a drink, as looking to walk along the canal. Would be happy to drop in again when passing.
Stopped for an obligatory tea break. lovely cake and service was good too. didn't have time for lunch but the menu looked terrific.
Lovely spot for coffee and cake for us but they do all sorts of other food too which looked good. Will be back to try it. Maybe for breakfast!
If you're heading east from Bath along the canal this is a great place to stop for a break, snack, coffee or mea.
I'm giving it five stars because it's a really important resource for the canal community and all those who use the canal.
The building is small but really well designed, with excellent lighting. The views are amazing, of a small and unusual canal and boat workshop that ends right outside the cafe, and also a forest.
Friendly staff. Good coffee. Delicious cake.
Stopped here for coffee, , good fresh hot drink. All so had very meaty sausage roll. Friend had good sized burger.
Drizzly weather, not very busy. Looked at viaduct.
Parking is paid.
Easy to find.
2 min walking
Seating in side and out.
Clean.
Toilets.
It's a bit on the pricey side, but this place has a lovely ambiance, especially after a refreshing walk. The cheesy chips are a highlight, offering a satisfying portion size. However, I was somewhat let down by the mocha I ordered; it came at a price of £3-£4 and was served in the tiniest mug I've ever encountered.
Lovely little spot. We had a vegetarian breakfast here which was really good, using innovative and tasty ingredients (including fried potatoes which I love!); to be honest other catering establishments could learn a lot from this place on how to make a veggie breakfast! Staff were very friendly also and the prices were fair considering the pleasant location.
Stopped for breakfast which was lovely then off for a stoll along the towpath.
When we returned the lunch menu was on looked great still full from the breakfast otherwise we would have sat back down.. Definitely worth a visit.
Lovely little cafe with extensive menu. Can get a bit stretched at buys times, but the canalside location is always interesting and the walks along the towpaths in each direction are fabulous.
Just walked along the canal and stopped here again for lunch! Ordered the most delicious grilled halloumi skewers with melon and Parma ham whilst I sat in the sunshine! Consistently brilliant here - Will be back again
