Spent a lovely 4 hours in your beer garden yesterday with friendly people and fab live music. We had calamari followed by your massive sea food trawler board and then your amazing cinnamon icecream. Our puppy enjoyed his first visit and was warmly welcomed by the locals. We don't live nearby but have visited several times and will be back again before summer is finished. Definitely our favourite pub of all time. The journey is well worth it!
It’s my local and I love it. Been with friends to quiz night, with family for a meal and on my own with the dog for a Sunday roast. The food is fab, never had a mediocre meal here. The staff are welcoming, I feel comfortable coming on my own. Garden in summer especially around Rose Queen is great. I can thoroughly recommend it.
Calves liver & bacon & mash followed by sticky toffee pudding & ice cream, washed down with gin & tonic & Jamesons... lovely food, atmosphere, staff.. I definitely recommend!
Went for lunch for the first time yesterday, and we were very impressed !!
We had one of their sharing plates which was absolutely first class !!
They do another sharing plate of mainly fish which we aim to go back for very soon , and then I must really try their steak & ale pie , so they’ve wet my appetite for multiple visits !!!
A very enjoyable experience, my only gripe is that you can’t book a table !!
If you can imagine a perfect cosy country pub, this is it ! Roaring fires, lovely food, friendly staff, this is a pub full of character and charm.
A trans friendly pub with excellent food & helpful bar staff. The Wobbly pie was lovely, & everybody was having a good time. Xx

Discovered this Pub after been diagnosed with a coeliac disease. I have been there few times and the food is always fresh and delicious. Staff is very aware of gluten free and cross contamination. Excellent service and a lovely atmosphere 🍀☘️🍀
It was lovely to sit in the beer garden and have some lunch and a few drinks and watch the world go by :-) will definitely be back again soon
Very chilled. Very friendly Locals and staff. Loads of choice on beers. Food was top. Just watch the step on the way in.
Try the steak and wobberly ale pie, fantastic. Good food good beer and exellent staff.
Stopped for a quick shandy , sat in the beer garden . Seems like a lovely pub and after reading the food I will be going back 👍
Cosy pub, great service! Amazing pub grub
Brilliant food, atmosphere and staff. Love this place!!
Lovely Sunday with the family & the bar staff were efficient & polite! Just a shame about the on off showers yesterday 👍
Always wonderful! Great food, service and atmosphere. Thank you. 😊
First Class atmosphere, superb food coupled with excellent ales, what more could you ask.
Lovely food and great service. And the sunshine made it even better.
Had a lovely lunch there yesterday. Came upon it by accident. Very pleased we did and will definitely be going back! Best scampi we've ever had and wonderful cosy and friendly atmposhere
Really good food and most attractive place inside and out.
Very warm and welcoming and fabulous food! Steak and Ale pie highly recommended!!
Beautiful setting, food brilliant and made to feel so welcome. Dog friendly so able to take Winston in as well. Will be returning x x
My favourite pub in Cheshire
Good food, especially the sharing Seafood starter. Great dog friendly Pub, it was a lovely day too so that was an added benefit bonus. Will definitely return.
A cold, snowy evening and access to a rental car meant a drive out into the Cheshire village of Mobberley for a warming pub meal by a roaring fire. . The Bull’s Head was unbeknown to me, but came highly recommended and did indeed have two roaring fires blazing – a pre-requisite when snow drifts abound.
The challenge with going to this excellent pub is finding parking. Aside from that this is a great country pub with local beers and some great food. Menu isn't extensive which is usually a good sign. Arrive early or late reservations aren't accepted and the place is usually busy at night. Thee is a small as you walk in- where the locals drink and a large garden where the local wasps join you for dinner. Friday night features live music which given the small size of the main area makes them have to shoe horn the band in. That said when we were there they played for 90 mins and weren't too loud either. Food wise order the pint of prawns or white bait to start and then really anything from the mains. All made on premises and with appropriate care and attention to detail. Get the wait staff to read back your complete order- they missed my main. Stick to the local beers, bar staff will help and provide samples to taste. In all very good country pub and worth the drive
A lovely village pub with great food and plenty of outdoor space to enjoy food and drinks in the summer. In the winter, the cosy and historic interior is just as welcoming and there's a fireplace to enjoy.
We visited for Sunday lunch and as well as the traditional offerings there were well crafted more modern options. They had small versions of roast dinners available for the children as well as fish/sausage/scampi and chips.
The adult portion fish (haddock) and chips was delicious buy could have done with a couple more chips.
There are good walks through the fields nearby and there is cycle parking available. Parking on the road is limited and can get busy but was ok when we visited. They have a good selection of real ales on tap as well as Lucky Saint for a low/non-alcoholic option.
Veggie and vegan options were quite limited and they didn't have plant milks available when we visited.
Great pub and amazing food
Fantastic food, great outside seating area especially in summer when weather is good!
Visited with friends after we had been out on a walk! Would highly recommend visiting. Staff lovely pub inside is amazing and food is fantastic
A very decent pub, and even though the cheese, and onion pie is kinda strange it’s still decent too (I ordered chips because even though it has mash on top, you can’t have pie without chips!)… and at just under £5 for a Guinness, that’s not particularly bad either given its location, and how expensive that can be these days…
Great service as everyone is attentive and nice, even during busy Sunday lunchtime. Quality food was served quickly and hot. Would definitely come again!
Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere aided by the live musicians. The food is always fresh and delicious. Would highly recommend to all, especially families with dogs.
Top countryside old pub.
With good quality food and service.
Strongly recommended for friends and family.
Ideal If you're disabled in a wheelchair, as it's all on one level.
Tip.
You can not book a table.
However, you can usually find a table both in & outdoors.
My personal recommendation is to get there by 12 to 12.30pm on any weekend to guarantee a table where you won't it as opposed what's left.
Sunday lunch. No bookings here. Just roll up and wait. Downside is you are then stood right in the way of everything. Very tight and congested bar area. Got too much and I had to step outside. That said, lovely staff. Good menu and my dinner was great. Large outside area so will return in the summer. Not sure I'd eat inside again as too hectic for me personally. Dog friendly in very small area.
I’d already chosen my pudding before we went and enjoyed the bakewell. It’s a pleasant venue in good weather as children can run around in the enclosed beer garden

Great local pub. Busy fantastic service and great food.
It is very difficult to find this type of places nowadays. This pub have managed to maintained the true originality of a classic English pub. Beer and food are just great. Absolutely brilliant.
Proper old school boozer with proper real fires and small roof. Really cozy inside with massive garden for the three days a year we get sunshine. God choice of drink and food, but the pie in the attached picture is my favourite and the main reason I come here.
The pub is always full and is a sign of how good it is, recommend 100%!!!!
Overall seems like a great pub that caters for all different age ranges/ families etc.
parking is a problem but not sure what can be done.
unfortunately let down by 1 or 2 of the male staffs attitude and how they present themselves. (Looking like they don't want to be there, attitude towards customers etc).
However,
I Would definitely still recommend the the bulls head to friends and family.
There isn't much to complain about with this place. Situated perfectly with the friendliest and politest staff. As soon as you've ordered I'd be very surprised if you're waiting longer then 15/20 minutes. Best pub food I've eaten in Britain to date! Great choice of ales and hoppy beers. Cosy indoor atmosphere particularly in the colder months. Outdoor seating such as benches with a parasol, and even your very own sheltered booths which come accompanied with blankets.
Went here with 2 friends for lunch today, and was not disappointed. Lovely cosy pub, with lit candles on the tables, and very welcoming staff.
My friends had the Steak & Ale pie, and thoroughly enjoyed it, and I had the Sea Bass, which was delicious.
We had two Desserts, of Cheshire Ice Cream, and one friend had the individual Apple & Cinnamon Crumble, with a jug of custard. It looked delicious, and obviously was, as he ate every bit of it.
It’s quite a rarity now to find such good home cooked food, but now we have, we will be back.
I should have taken a photograph of everything, I wish I had, as it was beautifully presented, but remembered to take a photo of the crumble dessert, before it disappeared.
Been here a few times, food is good, service excellent; speedy and friendly and lovely old place. Desserts are particularly good, couldn't choose between sticky toffee pudding and bakewell tart, so ordered one of each
It has a really lovely seated summerhouse area, which in effect makes small booths. The garden is very attractive as is the pub.
Excellent food and great service.
A great country pub.
A really good range of excellent hand-pulled ales.
Quaint setting. Attentive staff. Cosy dark pub with dining. Neat garden space and "potting sheds" and cycle rack. A pub for all seasons!
Fabulous food, atmosphere/ambience, service. All in all a great place to meet up with friends and enjoy great food and beers. Lots of outdoor seating too. Love this place! Down sides.....parking is difficult and you can't book.... so be prepared for a wait or arrive early. There's a lovely 4 mile circular walk from the pub too which helps you work up an appetite.
Excellent pub with a genuine friendly welcome and atmosphere. A proper country pub with low beams, flagged floors, real fires and always a great choice of locally brewed real ales. Rightfully very popular. A real gem, well worth a visit.
