WE have just celebrated another birthday party at the Carps. Its a wonderful quirky pub. The food is fantastic Not a huge menu but every meal hits the spot. Be prepared for a large plate of good food and a warm welcome from the bar staff. Kev n Co we love you. All the best from the mad Nailsworth gang
In a world where old fashioned pubs with good, hospitable, old fashioned service are dying out this pub is an absolute gem! Wonderful service, ambience and beautiful location. Could not recommend staying in this village and having a pint or 5 in this pub!
Great food and atmosphere in this quaint lovely country Pub. The staff and Landlord are very friendly and the log fire together with the wide range of Beer's and Ciders make this Pub a must visit.
Wonderful cosy friendly pub. Thank you so much to Debbie and Kevin for letting us use your pub for a 60th party. Lovely food and lovely place. Thank you.
The owners are the most friendly people, we met the landlord when we arrived in the village as he was buying newspapers and he chatted away to us. It was a surprise to see him behind the bar. We had a full English breakfast before our walk and a cream tea when we had finished, both were delicious. The main menu looked good too at reasonable prices
A beautiful little pub in an idyllic little village. Great, food from a perfectly sized menu catering for all dietary requirements.
Good range of drinks on draught and an excellent shelf of wines and spirits. Highly recommend popping in for a drink and some lunch/dinner.
Very warm welcome, excellent quality hearty food, great ales, fantastic service. We stopped for the night in our campervan for which they had a little reserved parking space so we could stay the night. It's a really proper English Pub in a very quiet village, it has a real local atmosphere but at the same time is very welcoming - Carl at the bar was very attentive, had a great sense of humour and really made us welcome. Ben was doing the food and did a fantastic job - I had mushroom soup (very tasty) followed by a proper steak pie, my wife had a vegetarian wellington which was also very tasty - also the gratin potatoes were excellent (very good vegetarian selection on the menu). Proper puddings too - a truly excellent home made treacle tart just like grandma used to make, also bread and butter pudding (not quite the best but still very satisfying). I'd really recommend heading off the main roads to this beautiful location for a very warm Cotswolds welcome and experience a genuine, proper pub.
This is the best pub is Cotswold. Great food and great drinks. Great service as they catered to us and made the food the way we wanted and we even talked with the workers which was nice. We had the cheese tomato quiche and Beetroot & butternut with veg and potato. Highly recommend to check out!
Everything a proper pub should be. Excellent beer, food and service. Great for couples, groups, kids, dogs, you name it.
I worked a shift here 24 years ago and it's the first time I've been in the area to go back. I definitely won't be leaving it another 24 years for my next visit. Highly recommended!
great place to stop after wall around area
lots of outdoor space for you and your dogs. inside was cozy and warm. the smell of a fireplace made us feel right at home
Lovely traditional village pub in a very pretty village. This is a very traditional pub, they have a small sweet shop in the corner, multiple fireplaces, nice garden. There's no car park, so you have to park on the street and try not to block traffic so please be mindful. We came here by accident when another pub we went to was shut but we were very glad we did. The service is friendly, and swift, food was very good, they have a vegetarian menu, kids menu, and usual pub fare such as burgers, pies, fish and chips, curry etc. The pub and surrounding buildings are all of the same style, and era. If you're in the area then I highly recommend a visit.
Food was quite good and the place was very warm and homely. Staff in the pub were friendly as well.
very lovely place to stop after a long walk, I went with a big group and there were no issues with food orders, timing or any other factors that could cause confusion with a large order. communication with staff was easy and they were all very kind. they also made a point to direct us to the water dispenser for our dogs, which was very appreciated.
Wonderful pub in a beautiful village! Want to feel like a local? This is the place. The owners and staff are lovely and you’ll feel right at home! Only wish this was my local.
Came here with my gran to see The Lost Trades. Staff were great, and gave my 95 year old gran a lot of attention. She used to write reviews for the Wilts And Glos Standard. Here’s hers for the pub 😅
“After an hours drive on a wet and windy night, our spirits were lifted considerably when we entered the carpenters arms, miserdon, to be greeted by a friendly staff and a roaring log fire. We were there for supper and folk music by the Lost Trades.
The menus were all very tempting. Especially the vegetarian which very original. (I don’t know what she means by original 😂) none of us had room for pudding, which means we will have to come back! Not a problem as the Sunday lunch menu had met with our approval.
We all agree that miserdon residents are so fortunate to have the carpenters arms on their doorstep. No need to get the car out for good food and entertainment”

This pub is great.
And my gran is a legend.
