Absolutely unbelievable. There wasn’t one fault with our experience here! The food was honestly amazing. Would have tried the whole menu and would happily eat here weekly if I were local! The service was incredible. Lovely staff and the owner was very present and chatty which is such a lovely touch. Thank you for a great dinner!

I don’t normally write reviews but I felt I had to call out this gem of a pub. The Horse and Radish is one of the most beautiful pubs I’ve ever been to with a lovely back garden and views over the fields. We had one of the best Sunday roasts I have ever had and the service was exceptional. It is a family run business and you can really feel the heart and soul that’s gone into the pub. It is on the slightly pricier end of the ‘pub Sunday roast scale’ but it is absolutely worth it. Would highly recommend going and I will absolutely be revisiting if I am ever back in the area. We just wish we were closer so we could come more often!

Lovely food and a nice place but getting a bit expensive. This was an £18 plate of fish and chips. Tasted lovely but can’t believe I got a half portion for that money. Maybe it’s me but I’m sure there is better value elsewhere (eg Mermaid in Burford) for this plate. From the reply below apparently there is nowhere else locally that has fresh fish which apparently is the reason the fish and chips are so expensive for the portion size. I would imagine other pubs would challenge this statement. We have been going here for years (even before it was named as it is now). It’s always been a bit pricey but value used to be better in my opinion

Super pub. We went for Christmas Day lunch - always a big test for a pub. We thought that the H&R maintained its pub atmosphere well while serving a substantial and sophisticated multi-course meal. The food was excellent, service was very good and there was a table entertainer also. Good range of beers. Well recommended.

First time we visit this place, since it was named as Horse & Radish, as there was many previous ownership of this place, which is shame, as I have attended this place many times over the years and never found any fault. Location of this gastro pub is in an excellent place - on a sunny day (and warm) it has the ideal outside area behind this pub, and is decorated with pergolas, sails and various shade to enjoy the wonderful Windrush Valley. Back to the food and drink, drinks were adequate, and lunchtime menu was of reasonable selection, I.e starters, sandwiches, and gastro menu. We opted for Homemade pie with mashed potatoes and greens, the pie is beef with Stilton and mushroom, with a small jug of jus - delicious! Just one disadvantage, hence the 4 star and not 5 - service charge is 12.5% and is added to the bill - just not the usual 10%. Do enjoy the location of this lovely pub!

Great family run pub / Indian restaurant. We had their Sunday vegetarian buffet which was scrumptious and very filling. The buffet is actually bought to you at the table by their attentive staff who you could ask more of anything you liked. In fact we would have liked to tried desserts but we were too full. Not sure if the desserts ( big choice)were chargeable but at £10.95 per adult and 5.95 for a child for the buffet you are getting a great deal! I will definitely come back to try the other dishes. There is plenty of parking there as well.

Went for lunch on a hot Summers day. Large flat tarmaced car park. Loved the interior decor and layout of tables (photos attached). There are some steps inside by the bar, but you can enter through the back which is flat. Lovely terrace with views of countryside. Friendly staff, lots of Gins(!) food is superb!! Highly recommended.

Wonderful service, nice settings and delicious honest dishes; many thanks to Andrew and waiter Pedro for a very enjoyable mid week evening meal. Still great after several lockdown and a pandemic. Thank God. Discovered their delicious woodfired pizzas this first weekend of August, yum yum. I'll be back!!😉🤩🤟

It was another fabulous evening at The Horse and Raddish. This is definitely at the "gastro" end of the "pub" spectrum, with slightly premium prices, but you get what you pay for with quality food, drink and ambience. The team are very warm and welcoming and it's that time of year when the real log fire comes into its own! Andrew (the owner) is one of the most charming men you'll meet, Pedro is excellent in front of house, and Martin (from Cornwall - so look out for these influences in the menu) is a great chef. Look out for the gorgeous Black Lab, Bark-ley, and the 12-week old puppy, Bertie (see the photos). If you don't want to eat in the restaurant, the bar, soft seating lounge and snug areas are ideal for a coffee, or something stronger. There's a good selection of beers as well as good gins and a decent wine list.

This is one of my favorite places now , the food is just amazing. It’s a quite place and honestly all the people that work there are like a family, very friendly, always come by and asked if everything was alright or if we liked the food . They didn’t rush us , plus they have an amazing view and they didn’t judge us for ordering 4 desserts. ( if you go there please you need to try the brownie)

I think this might be my favourite pub ever. The staff are all so wonderful. So warm, polite and attentive. We aren’t local but we make sure to eat here every time we visit our wedding venue which is nearby. Last time we came on a Sunday without a booking (which is risky because it’s so popular) but a special effort was made to find us a table and we had the loveliest time. Every element of the sunday roast is exquisite, so so tasty. I recommend this place to everyone. Always the best time xxx

Had THE best fish n chips here today. Perfect portion of loin in a light crispy batter and beautifully cooked. This is a great venue for a lunch or dinner or a drink or snack. Great views over the Windrush valley and a very genial host. We’ve use this place a few times now and never been disappointed with either the food or the service. Everyone without exception is polite and helpful. They do a superb Sunday roast too! Highly recommended 👍🏼
