Sunday roast is a must! Stumbled across this pub when visiting the Wilen Lake and we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
My friend had a weird request for “apple crumble without the apple” so only crumble and custard, and they actually served her that!!! The waiter went above and beyond to do this for her which we found very sweet.
First visit and it was OK, the service given to us by Holly was outstanding!

Called in after a wander round Willen lake. Very dog friendly. Good disabled access. Not enough staff though. They worked incredibly hard but there were not enough for such a big area. Had a yummy brunch of pancakes and latte coffees. My oatcakes with berries and yoghurt (apologies from staff no blueberries)
My husband had bacon on his pancakes.
My dog stayed under the table ina quiet Booth at the back.
Staff are very friendly and understanding (and deserve to be tipped!) and the food, while quite expensive, comes in big portions and is cooked nicely. It's very noisy, because of the location, so its more for a friend/family outing rather than romantic evening or to concentrate on anything solo but what it does set out to do it does effectively.
Easy recommendation.
The restaurant was stunning inside and the staff were amazing, the only problem they had was missing item's on the the menu, such as some desserts and sides, the views are beautiful and the food tasted lovely.
We walked in thinking we was the first in, staff made us feel very welcomed and sat us by the window to see the lake. The staff made us feel welcomed it was only when was seated we realised the place was not open as yet.
However the staff was happy to service us and to let us order breakfast - which is amazing! I had poached eggs with asparagus, my husband had the full English. Wow! Quality of food was excellent! Definitely coming again!
We had a reunion at the meeting room of the pub. It was such a lovely event. The staff were very helpful and cooperative. They were very pleasant and made sure we had a superb night. The atmosphere was lovely, the food was lovely. I cannot fault their service at all. From the manager, to the wait staff, they all ensured we had an amazing time. They even gave us bespoke menu to cater for our requirements. They were absolutely brilliant. It was a beautiful experience.
Walked round the lake and decided to pop in for a roast. The chef did us proud, it’s crazy how filling the meal was, although we still had room for a cheeky brownie sundae.
Top service, atmosphere was good and staff members couldn’t do enough for us. We will be back.
Just eaten here tonight and overly impressed with the service from our waitress Poppy from promptness to taking our order and the attentiveness during our meal and getting the bill! But also great interactions from the other staff members too so I hope this review finds you all for a job well done. Food and place was very nice to.
Thanks team for a lovely evening and meal at the Lakeside. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and drinks and the service was exceptional. A special shout out to Calum who made us feel very welcome. He served us very promptly, made some great menu recommendations and made sure we had a bowl of custard each for our shared dessert! He even brought over a bowl of water for the dog and gave him a special treat! Thank you for your kindness and hospitality Calum.
Food was great, lovely pub with an amazing setting...shame it was quiet but that's what happens when you have to pay for parking. DAN was exceptional, check on us regularly and was really friendly and welcoming, a real asset to the pub, nicky initially served us and she was awesome. Thankyou. Mike and Jayne
