This is our second visit tonight ( we won a hong Kong set menu for 2 on a Facebook competition) we decided to bring our children along and ordered a few extra dishes. The food is lovely the kids absolutely loved and we had to bring some home as we are all stuffed . Great service lovely people love the place

6 years in MK, and this is our go-to restaurant for good Chinese food. Taipan has seen me as a preggie, and seen my children grow. The servers were so familiar with our family and they were like uncles and aunties, doting on my kids and watching them grow. We have left UK now to go back home to Sg, but we would honestly have not survived our homesickness without the excellent Chinese food and the familial atmosphere there. Thank you, Taipan for the great food and the great company. Hope everyone is good and keeping well! We will be sure to visit you if we drop by MK again! Xxx

The Taipan is the best Chinese restaurant for miles around. Have eaten there hundreds of times over the years. Always like to go for dimsum on Saturday. Marvellous !

If you go to a Chinese restaurant and it's almost totally full with Chinese customers, you can be pretty sure the food is good and authentic. So this place ticks all those boxes. Decor wise is a bit bland and dated, but the food makes up for it. We were seated quick and even though the place was very full service was quick and mostly efficient (we had a dish missed and it took some time to finally come). I think no matter what you order your always looking at other tables because the food is quite unique and different looking. And that's the minor issue... its hard to know what your ordering. Its a place you need to go to 2 or 3 times.

It was my first time ever! I went there before the MK Theatre which is very close by. Forgot to take pics but me and my partner had a lovely dinner.. we had beef with black pepper and honey sauce, fried brown rice with no onions, spring rolls, sweet and sour king prawns and a bottle of water. Food is delicious, very quick service and nice atmosphere. Stuff very kind! Highly recommended!!!

Taipan, situated in the bustling heart of Milton Keynes, is an absolute gem for lovers of Chinese cuisine. The menu is an exciting fusion of traditional Cantonese dishes and contemporary twists on classic Chinese fare. From the moment we walked in, the experience was elevated by a truly warm and engaging team who made us feel right at home. The food was a delightful journey for the taste buds. Each dish was packed full of authentic flavours, perfectly balanced between spices and subtleties. Whether you're a purist who favours the traditional offerings or an adventurous diner eager to try modern takes on the classics, Taipan has something for everyone. The staff were incredibly friendly and engaging, enhancing the dining experience immeasurably. They were keen to offer recommendations and seemed genuinely invested in ensuring we enjoyed our meal, which we most certainly did. In summary, Taipan is not just a restaurant; it's a culinary experience set within a welcoming atmosphere, helmed by a stellar team. If you find yourself in Milton Keynes with a craving for Chinese cuisine, Taipan should be at the top of your list.

I remember this being better than my last visit. Service and turnaround is quick. Food is well priced and fresh. We went for the Taipan Gourmet Hor's d'Oeuvres which has Crispy Seaweed, Satay Chicken, Prawn Toast, Spare Ribs, Spring Rolls. The prawn toast was very good. The rest was standard. We went for the Hunan chilli chicken as we thought it was a wet dish but it was deep fried and dry. We already had salt and chilli chicken wings (which I wouldn't reorder) so it was a mistake on our part. I'd say it's probably best to book in advance at peak times.

After spending the weekend in MK, this is the best dim sum restaurant in Milton Keynes. Its a busy restaurant, the food was nice but the service was mediocre. Especially one waiter had a slapped arse.

So, it's the first time at Taipan. Overall, I liked it. 👍 I'm going to be honest, I think it has the potential to be much better and it wouldn't take much. Don't serve canned drinks and roof temp ones at that, pour it into a glass before service. The atmosphere could be made better with a refresh look and music. There could have been music, I didn't hear it. Prices are a little high also. But apart from these it was a good place to eat.

We love to try different restaurant for Dim Sum and we really enjoy coming back here for the foods. Nice dim sum and nice staff, parking is quite convenient too. Thanks Bryan and the other staff. The standard of the food has been good, never disappointed us all the time. Photos were from different visit in July - October 2021.

Delicious food! Everything we ordered was tasty and there are really good vegan options with clear labelling on their website menu. The portions are huge so this would be a great place to go for sharing. The restaurant is quite traditional in style and probably not somewhere you would look at and think 'wow, I want to go there' but the food is the main thing so don't overlook it. I personally ordered the tofu and aubergine satay with rice noodles and my husband had the sizzling beef with egg fried rice and we shared the vegetarian platter for a starter. I would recommend all of those dishes

Great food! Bit on the expensive side but it was worth it, my favourite are the char siu bao buns, I would recommend they were delicious! We went on a Saturday lunch time and it was super busy but the staff were still incredibly friendly. Would come again :)

Regularly visit this place and not once have I been disappointed. Food quality is top notch. Worth checking their menu before you go as there's so much choice. It may seem like each dish is a bit pricy BUT the portions are huge. One starter, one rice and one main is easily enough for 2 people to share and be full so although each dish may seem pricey, for the amount you get it's really very reasonable. The service is also great, always greeted as priority, food comes out quick and the staff are all lovely and professional. Highly reccomend!
