Great pub, great food, great staff! Don't be put off by the building, once inside Sue and Tracy are behind the bar with Dan the chef preparing lovely food and Tania bringing it to your table. Nice spacious room, but took a while to warm up. Friendly staff who came to see if we needed anything further( toilet rolls, milk etc.) Only fault I had was on the website it said soundproofed room but our room was above pub entrance I could hear customers going out for a cigarette also other reside
Had a meal with the family and we all ordered different items, from burger, pasta, fish n chips, n the the specials
All the food was excellent, service was brilliant and there were no problems
We all commented on the tastiness of the food and would certainly recommend it
I love the Bear. It's local to my Nan's house in Millom. They always have Wainwright on draft and it's always fresh. Plus nice ales. Thanks for a lovely visit
Had a lovely meal, of fish and chips, with mushy peas, and a pint. Would go back again. Lovely friendly staff. Happy days. 😊
Called in for lunch as was dog friendly while we were out walking from Haverigg.
Had chef special sausage curry and carbonara, followed by sticky toffee pudding and a latte.
Fodd was fantastic value for money and a great choice.

Great full english breakfast and cappuccino. Dogs welcome, 2 large rooms one dining area, the other has jukebox and pool table. Good prices, small row of shops out front with post office over the road.
Popped in for a pint and a sandwich. Cafe type area at one side pub at the other. Dog friendly. Nice food

Very interesting place. Friendly staff, good proper beers, great chef producing great food of good value with quick service and the best place in Millom for regular opening times. Great Sunday carvery in Winter.
After some initial struggles with our booked room, the staff were very helpful and immediately tended to our problems.
The room was equipped with a small fan as well as a bar for hanging your jackets.
The en-suite bathroom was very modern. The water pressure from the shower was pleasantly strong.
We only went in for some fish and chips which were on a Friday special
Turned out to be absolutely fantastic and you couldn't ask for a better service with the staff being very friendly and helpful 👍 👌 😀
Well we booked for the Sunday carvery and it was delicious. Some carvery are good but the food tends to be cool.but at the bear on the square it was hot and tasty. A most enjoyable experience.
Was forced to rent a room for the night because of train cancellations. Got something to eat, too. Chips were gorgeous, staff were very nice, location is right in the middle of Millom and the rooms were very clean and cosy. If I were here on my own terms rather than having no other choice, I am sure
Love it here! For a small pub they have an array of food and from what I’ve tried they’re all done well. The gammon with Salt and pepper chips is always a winner!
