Very nice and cosy pub with good meals. Very friendly staff and nice variety of fresh vegetables besides the tasty pie. Keep on going your pub in this way!
We passed this on a hike and decided to visit afterwards as its such a pretty location. We sat out at the side of the river. The food was really good and the plates were full. The staff were very friendly and engaging. Would definitely recommend and we will be definitely be making a return journey.
What an amazing find after our walk in the area around to the stepping stones and beyond. Cold beer and lovely food in a great spot by the river. The service was friendly and efficient, will definitely return here when back in the area.
Classic village pub, picturesque setting just off the monsal trail. Excellent local ales and good food with friendly service. A real gem of the peak district.
Lovely place. After a long hike, it was so nice to sit outside next to the river and enjoy our meal. They even sell good quality dog foods too.
Super food homemade went for a quick walk popped in on the way back me and the wife 1 of the best Sunday lunches we've had we ate outside along the river lovely setting highly recommended 😊
Lovely, traditional country pub that’s geared up for home made pub grub. Very popular with people looking for a bite to eat after a long walk. Not really a chatty conversational pub with the way it’s laid out but does serve a cracking pint. About 3 ales on. If you’re not eating and only having an al
Oh my goodness from the moment of booking to the moment we left after the meal the service was outstanding. The food was mouthwatering, hot and beautifully cooked and if I could have actually eaten anything else I would have ordered another portion. But the thing that was so great was the young serv
Lovely old world pub serving food. The best part about this place are the tables by the river where you can sit and listen to the sound of water. I had the ploughman’s dish which was good quality. Some local ales on tap. They have their own car park here with about a dozen spaces. They don’t allow p
Very nice pub, full of friendly people and staff. Lovely food
Had the steak and kidney pudding and can honestly say it was marvellous !! My wife had the lasagne which she thoroughly enjoyed too. I can't comment on deserts as we were stuffed due to the size of our portions so declined. Some nice local beers on tap too. Having read some of the negative reviews
Nice pub, great lunch with a good range of food and friendly but professional service. They're dog (I'd prefer not but that's just me) and hiker friendly. They have parking which is for current patrons only (i.e. you can't have a meal and go for a walk).
Called in for a cider with the dog. Charming, quintessential pub in a lovely spot by the river. Although we didn't eat there the menu looked very good! Well worth a visit if you're looking for a pub with character and charm.
Lovely pub..friendly staff..cosy..dog friendly..excellent food good portion..great wee find
Real pub, serving real local beer and really good pub grub (Also Stowford AND Aspall's cider.)! All in a splendid real pub ambience. Muddy boots and dogs very welcome in the snug. Sensible size of menu with vegetarian options. Portion size generous. Great value "Over-60s" lunch menu. A must for us
Been here a few times, fantastic country pub. Food is amazing 👌 Went again today for birthday lunch. Lots of onsite parking.
Lovely cosy warm pub. Food was home cooked apart from the chips which let it down slightly. Would go again if i was in the area.
Best meal we have had so far in the three weeks we have been in the UK on holiday. Lamb shank and steak pie were amazing. Great service and cold drinks. 🇦🇺
What a brilliant place, we were a big group and they looked after us well. The food was tasty, reasonable price and the team had great banter with us. Would highly recommend
