We had a fantastic lunch at The Canteen last weekend. What a wonderful change of use, very tastefully decorated and the food was divine. Highly recommend the falafel burger followed by the chocolate pot. The staff were super friendly too. We will certainly be back.

We went there today for Sunday Lunch, just WOW the best one I have ever had and gluten free too as my wife is a celiac and struggles to find a decent Sunday Lunch it made her day. The staff were great and an unusual venue too.

We had a fabulous walk from Maker Church to Kingsand and ended up back at The Canteen. Fabulous food (today, perfectly cooked crispy mackerel on a salad of courgette, fennel and coriander, then a monster scone with jam and clotted cream). Excellent value, and the food's worth the trip even if you're not walking :)

What a place! Just go and you will be amazed by the fantastic food (had a half XL lobster which was brilliant and the cauliflower curry was fabulous as well) and wonderful staff. Highlight of our two week trip through CornwallšŸ˜Š.

I visited for breakfast, which was lovely. Great quality, although the first time I've ever been served salad in a breakfast sausage sandwich. The staff are great and really friendly, and if you're sitting outside there's a lovely green view looking out towards the sea. Well worth a visit.

Incredible food incredible view awesome service. Have come here many times over the last few summers and itā€™s always a highlight. The setting is amazing but the food is what keeps us coming back. The price is so good for the quality and quantity you get. The menu is always changing and the way the lush fresh seasonal flavours are put together with some nice inventive touches you sense the chefs wouldnā€™t be at all out of place in a wanky Michelin style restaurant but prefer to make awesome honest food in an unpretentious setting . Seems to often be heaving with locals and even when itā€™s busy you always get service with a smile. I donā€™t usually go for salads but the beetroot, goats cheese & walnut combo I had there recently was incredible. Wife is veggie too and they had some lush options for her. I really canā€™t fault it, just wish it was in nearer to home. ****update just returned (2023) itā€™s BETTER. Food is even better but also the road up to it has been resurfaced and the place has a slightly more refined feel, but without loosing any of its original charm. Canā€™t praise it or the staff enough

Enjoyed a wholesome English fry up here. It was evident that the produce used was quality and local, everything tasted as if it was home made and made with love. The staff were friendly and lovely, the venue is quaint and the views are stunning if you sit outside.

Stopped here for the amazing views over Kingsand and Cawsand but decided to have a coffee and a slice of lemon drizzle cake, wonderful quirky fantastic use of an old nissen hut converted into a super dog friendly cafe serving what looked like scrumptious breakfasts and lots of other delights. Set nearby the Rame Peninsula and on the Maker Heights campsite, the Canteen is well worth a visit to take in nature at it's best-Wonderful!!

This place is an absolute gem. The staff are amazingly friendly and ehe food is also amazing. We walked up from Cawsand and were really happy with the quality of the food. The decor is great and the atmosphere is chilled. It is quite small so felt quite lucky to walk in and get a seat straight away. We had the vegan and meat breakfast, scone and cream and a couple coffees - all of it was amazing.

My third or fourth lunch at the Canteen at Maker. Sunday lunch today was out of this world: the fresh vegetables and herbs which they grow there are prepared so well by the kitchen team, who work amazingly hard and always with a smile on their faces. The whole place at Maker is going really well at the moment, but the Canteen is something else: best restaurant in the district by a country mile. We ate bass, lamb, nut roast, ceviched fish and beetroot starters. We drank good beer and rosĆ© wine. And we were so full we took the pavlova away with us to have later. This is truly great food - Iā€™ll keep coming back.

Wow, what a hidden gem. I do not want you to find this because I want to be able to get in next time I visit. Seriously, don't go looking for it unless you booked ahead. Food was amazing. Beautifully presented and locally sourced. As was the drinks menu. Service was superb, friendly and professional. Seating is eccentric in the best way and the views outside are stunning. I recommend the little local craft shop round the back. A small range but very good.

A fantastic place to take a break when walking the beautiful Rame peninsula. The food is really lovely and always prepared with care. There's a nice variety too and it's reasonably priced. Inside, the decor is great but if you sit outside you're met with wonderful views from Plymouth Sound around to Looe and west Cornwall and also the moors

Came for Birthday lunch yesterday. It was delicious. The pea and mint soup was really tasty, we splashed out on the Bass shared plate and it didnā€™t disappoint, cooked to perfection! the desserts were delicious- we all ordered a different one and shared. Love the rustic vibe.

Fantastic stop!! We had tea, coffee, and cream tea and they were all excellent! An unassuming place for a good cup of coffee but it was one of the best I've had anywhere. The food also looked incredible and we wish we had been able to stay for a full meal. As many other reviews and pictures show, unmatched views and a fascinating history.

This is a hidden gem, a locals secret. The canteen at maker has some of the best home made and locally produced food in Cornwall. They do a different muffin every day, which never disappoints! Their breakfasts are amazing but their lunch and dinner specials menu is even better. Superb service, in a friendly atmosphere with unique sea views. Great local walks and amazing artworks dotted around. There is something magical about this place that will make you want to come back, again and again.

Discovered this brilliant place by accident, looking for somewhere that offered Vegan options. It's very unusual, and absolutely fantastic. Nothing is too much effort, for either waiting staff or chef. We were so impressed with the food. Top quality food, beautifully presented, and not at bank breaking prices. Best lunch out in ages, and certainly great value for money. We will definitely be going back - and I've been recommending it to everyone who will listen!!!
