Just finished off eating a big order for 11, and got to say brilliant chippy. Every bit was super. Great chips, beautiful fish, and top tier curry sauce (English, Irish and Chinese). They even chucked in an extra fish and chips just in case. Highly recommended.
Phenomenal Chippy! It’s changed hands and my god it’s for the better. Brilliant, kind and friendly staff and the grub is off the scale, huge portions too. Won’t visit Hills again, chips aren’t even in the same ball park as Mod Cod and the guy who runs it is miserable.

First time here, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, food was very delicious and filling and chippy is easy to find and is in a good area. The sausage with chips and Chinese curry was very tasty.

Excellent fish and chips. Fish was in thin batter and the chips crunchy outside and fluffy inside. All nice and hot. Under new ownership and you can tell the difference. I will be back.

Just had fish, chips, peas, Chinese curry, gravy and a battered sausage between us tonight! Wow is all I can say, best chippy tea I’ve had in yrs, the fish was cooked to perfection as was everything else! Absolute top notch grub! Best in Midd for me after this meal x

Absolutely fantastic. We had fish chips and peas with curry sauce and it was all excellent.
Special mention has to be made for the home made tartar sauce. Such a pleasure to have fresh tartar sauce instead of the spooned out of a bottle.

Even though a little out of our way we have visited the Mod Cod on quite a few occasions now and always been very impressed from there stand out shop front to there always friendly staff in side & large choice of menu. We've started going to this chippy for the last few weeks and the chips have been lovely. Unfortunately tonight the portions have been rather small. We didn't realise until we got home. Usually the large portions are piled up, and we can have seconds for our tea. Not tonight. Very disappointed.
