Visited for light lunch. Delighted to see my favourite beans on toast! Delicious and presented lovely. Followed with a slice of cake which was lovely too. This is a fab cafe, welcoming staff, all home made food. So many places get it badly wrong - this is not one of them! Highly recommend if you are in Middleton in Teesdale.
Called in for coffee but decided to have a toasted teacake as well . The coffee was lovely and hot and the Toasted Teacake was was light and served with butter and jam - delicious .
Lovely sunny afternoon sat outside, service by the lady serving food exemplary. Sandwiches, accompaniments and cakes the best I have had in a longtime. I must mention the softest bread :) .
Had another regular visit to this delightful Teesdale cafe. Has traditional country style foods on offer to purchase from the shop counter inside. Enjoyed my usual ever so tasty and nicely cooked scrambled eggs with toast and pot of grated cheese. Desert was a mouth melting coconut tart. Also tried a cappuccino, which was the nicest I've ever had. Thoroughly recommended with seating tables outside in a lovely sunspot too. Superb !
Such a quality lunch on a pavement cafe table. Weather helped of course.
Ploughman's and Platter
Called in late Sunday afternoon so may not be general reflection. Can't fault the coffee and service. Cakes were delicious. Cafe is dog friendly too
A drive into Middleton in Teesdale for a look around this lovely village . We have been before, and it's always a pleasure to visit.
We went specifically for brunch/lunch.
We have visited this cafe before and took advantage of a table outside in the sun.
Very good menu covering breakfast into lunch and afternoon tea and cakes. We opted for bacon, brie and cranberry sandwiches which came with a delicious side salad, coffee and tea.
The service was good considering the cafe was busy with customers staying to eat and also food to go.
They also gave a small deli section inside which sells biscuits, bread sticks ,salad dressings and so much more.
Great dog friendly cafe in Middleton. Tables inside and outdoor seating.
A quick stop off for breakfast on way to golf course.
Very nice breakfast. Friendly service. Reasonably priced. Filled the hole very nicely after driving for a few hours. Perfect
On our way to Scotch Corner for a break in our journey from Scotland, saw Samuel James cafe in the lovely village of Middleton-in-Teesdale, decided to stop. So glad we did, seemed popular with locals and passing trade. Quick service and lovely food. Worth a visit.
This cafe is a regular visit for me, it's perfectly situated in the centre of the village, with on street parking as well as a smaller car park opposite. There's also a longer stay car park just down the road.
The cafe has indoor and outdoor seating (weather permitting) although due to the size, it can get busy and fill quickly.
There is a great selection of drinks and food, as well as local produce from breads through to cheeses and pies.
The staff are very friendly and always welcoming.
I like to park my motorbike outside, enjoy a coffee and scone in the sun and generally relax!
Lovely little cafe with excellent friendly service. Relaxing outdoor area to enjoy the superb food offered here. Additionally has a really good little cheese deli which also has a small selection of quiches etc…. No issue in highly recommending this establishmentj
What a great little Deli cafe this is. Always welcome with friendly staff. Very good quality food and cakes and lovely coffee. Outside seating is available and very pleasant on a sunny afternoon.
Its situated on the main high street with parking spots right outside and over the road. It's a bit of a biker and cyclists hot spot with the surrounding roads and scenery being so good. It can get busy at times but definitely well worth a visit.
We were staying in the area and had tried the other cafe but this one was excellent food was fab and the atmosphere is very nice great cakes etc and all the staff were really nice, will definitely being going back 😊.
Called in for a brew while passing through on the bike, a nice little tea room, on the main high street, tempted by the cakes, and had what was the best carrot cake I've had for a long time!.. will certainly make sure I call again 😀
We went to the cafe for my wife's birthday lunch after a walk up at cow green reservoir, we all had the ploughman's and loved it, great cafe with lovely food and we have already being recommend it too people and we will be visiting again in the future
The best coffee I've had in my whole life! and roasted and ground locally too. The food was very tasty and presented beautifully. The staff were helpful friendly & engaging. I will certainly be re-visiting the café a lot I was so impressed :-)
Great little tea room the food was loverly with a nice range on the menu. The only gripe I had was the amount of flies this cafe would benefit greatly from a trap system to improve the atmosphere.
Beautiful area for stopping off and having a quick snack on our journey, the views are outstanding and High Force waterfall is just up the road
