This was our first time at Base Camp in Middlesbrough, we came to see some rock/metal bands play here , it's a quirky place but very well thought out with one room leading onto another, I think it must have been some kind of factory on one point in it's life but has been transformed into a gig venue , as well as staged area there are seating areas & a bar which also serves food , the staff are very friendly & our overall experience was very good , because of where it is there is only parking on the surrounding streets near by , it it located not far from the A66 just off from the A19 so easy to get to by car , use a satnav & it will take you straight there , it took us just over an hours drive from Newcastle upon Tyne so it's great if you live in Middlesbrough as it's not far from the city centre .
I visited the Base camp today and to be honest I was very skeptical as I was trying vegan food for the first time, however I was very impressed the food was amazing, very very tasty and the staff were so friendly. The building itself is very quirky and it has a lovely atmosphere. I would definitely encourage you all to try out the Base camp highly recommend!!!
A great event space with some nice projector displays that entirely light up each wall!
Great live music venue. Friendly atmosphere and well stocked bar too.
Mega gig venue and burger bar!! Proper indie vibes and friendly staff.
Utterly fabulous art space with totally funky decor, always loads going on from music and exhibitions to arty markets and workshops. Awesome food and drinks including topnotch cocktails and mocktails. A real gem.
Went tonight for a smashing meal, the Roaming Chef was making Greek food,
It was gorgeous there were Giro's and loads of snacks and dips, all vegie or vegan and all delicious, we tried everything, will definately go back for Mexican food in two weeks.
Lovely setup and atmosphere, pleasant helpful staff, couldnt stay for bands but will next time. Thanks for a lovely evening.
Good vegan and gluten free food available. Menu is very different between lunch and evening so worth going at different times for a different experience.
Some desserts were available at lunch time however waitress didn't make us aware and only noticed them at the counter on the way out as we were not seated in line of sight of the counter. Maybe a desserts menu would help.
Visited for an the #DigiTees event. Really lovely staff that were happy to let me hang out even though I was really early for the event. Drinks are a reasonable price and the venue itself is large enough to be comfortable while small enough to not feel vacant. Would love to go again!
Best staff! Best nights! Happy environment. Loads going on all the time. Gigs, art, markets, meetings, also got a fabulous band practice space!
Still in its infancy but I enjoyed it. The bar is separate now to the room where the bands play. Good sound.
Great night at sad for life records new cinema night, highly recommend coming down here and seeing what other independent events are on. Great to have this in Middlesbrough, support independent art & music folks!
Good cafe/bar area and great intimate gig venue.
Great venue, can't believe it's not more published. Had a great night.
Lovely little cafe. Amazing vegan, vegetarian and gluten free dishes. Friendly staff.
