The staff were incredibly friendly and the function room perfect for about 30+ people. The buffet in the room was really nice . The bar a little slow but that was because there was only two serving at the bar when our party arrived 30+ They soon managed queue down. This is not a criticism as the two
Nice hotel, spacious room, self service breakfast. Friendly staff. We haven't stayed here for a few years but it is still a comfortable hotel to stay in. Pub prices next door good for evening meal.
Good hotel very reasonably priced. The bar has a good range of beers and wines. The menu is typically pub food but is good food. The location is great for visiting the North east, whitby and Scarborough.
We hired the smaller room for a retirement party, the staff where very helpful and friendly especially Kirsty, even offering to help set up. Nice extra free parking for guests. Thank you all for making this a rememberal evening.
Lovely pub. Apart from the grim trade is does from the crematorium it's never too busy. And it just feels nice. Buffet choice, quality, and quantity were fantastic. Staff and other patrons were respectful and polite (we were a funeral party). Location was very near to the crematorium. Didn't use the hotel rooms.
Great food, both evening meal and breakfast. Room a little tired, could do with some attention but room was clean. Worst issue was bath drain partially blocked resulting in it being slow to empty. Overall good value, will use again if I am in the area.
We attended the quiz tonight and had a wonderful time! The staff were great with us, particularly the new one, Tom! Thanks for the great food during the quiz as well! Can't wait for the next one.
The Sunday dinner was excellent. Drinks can add up though. And sometimes, it gets a little too busy. It is funny though. When someone comes in. And they want to be where u are. Because.... that's where they've always stood or sat

Held our Mothers 80th Party here this afternoon, gorgeous room, bar staff were lovely, expected it to be noisy as Sunday dinners are good here, all patrons kept to other rooms as notes were placed on doors, nice n peaceful.
