Why would anybody want to give this place less than 5 Stars? The food is great and the staff are lovely. The Young Girl behind the till never stops she is always doing something. The first time we called was only for a coffee but we ended up having a sandwich and a piece of cake because it look that nice. My wife and myself went for afternoon tea on a Sunday. Ok it was quiet but Messingham Show was on so i expected that. It is a lovely place with a nice gift shop and farm shop as you exit. It is a little bit more pricier and what you would pay on the high street in a butcher's or gift shop but if you want quality then you don't mind paying for it. We will certainly be returning on a regular basis but next time we will try a cooked dinner which looked very nice. Oh and I nearly forgot! It is the only place that I have ever found a parma violet candle.

Have been several times to this gem of a place , Jo and Steve make you feel very welcome , and have very obliging staff as well. The ambience of the place is quite unique , it boasts a antique centre where Steve does valuations, a flower shop selling unusual gifts, and Jo now sells ladies fashions . There was a delightful fashion show last week, which was great value for money! The coffee shop sells delicious food , and now is open for Sunday lunch. Well worth a visit !

Me and my husband came this morning for an English breakfast. I've heard lovely things about this place and was curious and wanted to visit! Staff who greeted us were lovely and friendly, wasn't waiting long for our breakfast compared to some places. I have to say it was the best breakfast I've ever had! Wasn't swimming in grease either.... the eggs, sausages, bacon etc was to die for.... absolutely beautiful. Presentation was great too! We were both full and would definitely go back again and highly recommend to family and friends οΏ½

We’ve just had an excellent Sunday lunch at the Old School, Messingham! I chose roast pork, and my partner had roast beef - both were served with huge Yorkshire puddings, mashed and roast potatoes and stuffing. The vegetables were served separately - sugar snap peas, broccoli, carrots and cauliflower cheese. Everything was delicious, and we even found room for some home made desserts and cakes afterwards. A lovely meal, in a beautifully venue!

A very nice old school turned restaurant, decor is amazing, breakfast was good but for over Β£10 not including drinks, I would have expected more than one slice of bacon. Staff are friendly and helpful. Parking was easy.

Visited for a friend's birthday for afternoon tea, it was lovely and very filling! Our only complaint is the cream for the scones was a little "bitty" and lumpy not like the clotted cream we expected.

We saw it on our way home, drove passed, turned around, they serve food here which looked very tasty πŸ˜‹ we had already eaten but, we had a drink. Had a very enjoyable time, it has a license so really good. I also bought 2 dresses, there's an antique area and a little deli. Will go back next week for lunch. Staff were great πŸ‘

We went for afternoon tea which was a Christmas gift.... It was very cold on that particular day , but when we asked them, they did turn the heating up. The food was good and you could tell it had been freshly made. The savoury selection came on a plate and the sweet selection came on a cake display plate, served with tea or coffee. We went mid week and it was Β£20 per head for afternoon tea.... Good choice and freshly made.... but if you'll pardon the pun "enjoyable but not really my cup of tea"

I can't get enough of this place. Breakfasts are excellent, lunch is fab too. It's quirky and homey all at the same time. A really lovely find, as we are new to the neighbourhood.

True hidden gem, one of the best places i have been. Staff are beyond accommodating. Food spectacular atmosphere πŸ‘Œ and the added bonus of having a deli, shop and antiques could spend hours there. Can not wait to go back

Not a regular haunt of ours, but definitely one we are happy to visit. Good lunch time menu, choices to suit all family members, including children. They are currently undergoing some redecoration so space is a little restricted. Watch out if you choose Fish and Chips - the portions are 'very large'.
