I visited this lovely pub on a Thursday lunchtime, 2 weeks ago, with family members - 5 in total. My 1st visit! Starters were breaded mushrooms, fried camembert & homemade soup, all delicious. Mains were grilled tuna, beef lasagne, cottage pie, a special "piggy pie" made with ham & sausages & finally scampi. There were dishes of vegetables & chips - a plentiful supply. Two of us shared a dessert. The staff were very friendly & helpful. A wonderful little gem of a place, and great value for money......shall definitely visit again.

Went here last Thursday, it's our second time here and it won't be our last. We had another excellent meal and the staff our so friendly especially Domino who sat next to us to make sure we ate all our food. The Stilton Cheese Inn is typical country pub with a good range of home cooked food. We are glad we discovered this pub as it's only 10 minutes drive from us.

We stayed here for one night 6-8 weeks ago, I've been working in Beaumont Leys for the last week and chose to drive to the Stilton Cheese 35 minutes from where I am working for the following reasons. 1, the owners and staff made us so welcome the first time we stayed, they also all remembered us from our first visit. 2, all the locals are so friendly 3, I've had a different meal every night for a week and all have been outstanding in presentation and taste. Sadly I leave at 5.30 every morning so I miss out on the breakfast :( 4, accommodation is good and the shared bathrooms are kept spotless at all times Once the football season starts, we will be staying at this establishment again for some of our away games. For all the above reasons we give this establishment a 10 out of 10

Very helpful, accommodating and friendly staff, gave us such a warm welcome & looked after us really well - lunch was lovely and very reasonably priced and your patience with our elderly parents was much appreciated!

Awesome! Loved everything about it. Lovely village pub with great food to go with it (home cooked, high quality at a reasonable price) and lots of choice on the blackboard. Great range of real ales with a warm welcome and friendly efficient service - couldn't wish for anything more!

Great little pub, feels like you've gone back in time to the days before the big chains. Menu was great, lots of choice and a specials board too. Lovely home cooked food at a reasonable price. Amazing homemade puddings with custard, hard to choose which to have. Will definitely go again.

Cannot fault our experience today. Good food, superb choice of beers on tap. Hospitality exceptional, there was nothing the lady taking the orders, serving the drinks and dispensing the food to the table wouldn't undertake in a very welcoming and accommodating manner. She even found time to bring some treats for our black lab. Good value for money, will go again.

This is a fantastic pub in Somerby. The staff and the Landlord and his wife are really nice. They have been there 27 years. The food is really nice and it is a very old pub with beams. The location is fabulous as well.

Been here before and sat at the same table with muddy boots after walking from Borough Hill. Publican was really friendly and actually came out to offer my dog a treat which was lovely. Very friendly service and our party were all delighted with the drink they chose. They always have interesting guest beers. Highly recommended.

Cosy pub with a calm atmosphere in a beautiful location. The food was extremely well made and presented, not to mention very tasty. Friendly staff who didn't hesitate to tell me about the family-run business and the history of the building.

Lovely traditional English country village pub, friendly and welcoming. We had the Sunday roast dinner for our evening meal. The beef was lovely. Cheese and biscuits and a glass of port to follow. What more could you ask for... oh, the Oakham cosmic jellyfish. Bliss!
