From walking in you know it's an independant pub and not a brewrey chain of the same. Our family sunday dinners will never be the same, the chef is amazing. Great Value, Great Food, fantastic service and the best beer i have tasted in a very long time. Kids loved it, outside theres plenty of space for them to play. It's a warm and welcoming place. can't priase it enough. Thank you Rose and Crown, we will return for sure.

Went to the Rose on a rare child free night, these nights are at a premium so when you go out you want it to be good. The Rose did not disappoint, great food, great beer, and a good price. Had the curry, it was brilliant and a proper portion. My wife had the Hake, she loved it. Attention to detail by the waitress was excellent without being over bearing. Thoroughly recommended.

Cracking pub. Proper pub not like one of these samey chains. Really good choice of drinks. From the guest beers / stouts etc which are my preference to a very wide range of specialty gins. Service is excellent, and the young lady (Leah) behind the bar is both efficient and welcoming. A credit to the pub and her generation. Nice to talk to a landlord (Simon) that actually cares about what he does and not just a job. Pub has lots of events- tastings etc. Much more imaginative than other places which reflects how much effort the owners put in. Food is also excellent. Had several Sunday lunches and these can’t be beaten. Quality and plenty of it. I’m a big eater and often disappointed in pubs where you don’t get enough or have to order veg separately to get a good meal. Not here. Chef is great. Had a few family meals and could not find a fault. Lovely. I had steak last time with a Stilton sauce. I feel it’s wrong to have a sauce with steak but it was so good. Especially with dipping the chips. Prices? Very reasonable in my opinion and excellent value for money. From the first time I went in I felt comfortable and like they wanted me there, and I was valued as a customer. Only fault I have with the pub is that it isn’t in the village where I live! Keep the effort up guys, it is appreciated!

First meal, it was faultless, beautifully presented, tasted great and served by cheerful helpful staff. We had a warm welcome as soon as we arrived. A little gem of a pub

Fantastic meal tonight for autumn menu. The food was superb from starters to desserts. Often struggle for a tasty vegetarian option for starter and main but both were great choices. Presentation brilliant and will be visiting again very soon. Thank you.

Wow what a lovely pub. We were staying close by with our dog and thought we'd give it a try. Very friendly and attentive staff. We had the burgers and they were excellent. The Madri lager was very refreshing. If you're in the area just check it out, you won't regret it :-)

Visited on Friday 1st April at around 2pm with my partner and 5 month old son. It was quite and we had the pick of the tables. Sat next to a nice log fire which was perfect on such a cold day. The food was excellent as was the lady that served us. Nothing too much trouble. Would seriously recommend.

Not very often I go here as I preferred the Black Horse when it was open. But I had a very pleasant evening on the settee near the fire. Nice ales and very friendly locals. Can see me stopping off here more often. Nice big car park. Must admit it takes a bit of finding in the dark when your not sure where the pub is. I believe the meals are good here as well. Pop in and try for yourself.

Amazing pub. Have only been for Sunday lunch but have returned several times with my young family. I'm not really a fan of roast dinners but the roast here is mouth watering and memorable! huge portions but kids and small adult portions available on request. Service outstanding, nothing is too much trouble. The staff are working so hard and very obviously value the success they're enjoying! best Sunday roast in the area.

A drinking man's pub with some excellent grub also available. I took my family here for a Friday evening meal and we had a nice time. My Wife and I had something from the grill which was excellent quality and very filling. The kids had fish and chips which was also of an excellent standard. I wouldn't go to eat on a Friday evening again though because the pub was happily selling plenty of beer from the well stocked range available.

I cant recommend this place enough. The service was immaculate, speedy and friendly. Silvio and his staff were incredibly attentive and always happy to help and made us feel really special the whole time we were there. I had the beautiful seafood linguini, and as an Italian, I can confidently say that it is almost as good as my own dads cooking... I really think Silvio knows exactly what he's doing, and he has found his perfect market in a small village opening up an Italian pub in the vale of Belvoir with fabulous service and even better food. I can't wait to see this place succeed, and I am so excited to come back again and visit. Best of luck, and tante amore Bella

Had a superb Sunday lunch at this very nice village pub. Choice of different meats, a vegetarian Wellington and fish dish. Had some delicious roast lamb with seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, mash, roast potatoes and home made gravy. Full of flavour and a generous portion - I did not have to eat again for the rest of the day. Great service and a wide choice of drinks available. You may buy cheaper but you will not best the quality offered here. Thoroughly recommended.

Good Sunday lunch reasonably priced with plenty of quantity. The only two things I would suggest is a separate gravy pot to prevent over flooding the food.Secondly when serving customers it is normal to approach from behind and to the left to present meal.Three times during our meal staff lent in front of me to serve my wife and on one occasion nearly had a tie in my dinner. Freindly staff and a nice atmosphere.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday roast today followed by an equally delicious spiced crumble. Quite often I'm left disappointed after a Sunday roast at a pub, but not today! I thought it was really tasty and the waitress was friendly and polite. Oh and I tried my girl friend's fish and chips and chocolate torte, and both were delicious. I would like to come back again :)

What an amazing place to go. We went there for dinner with a party of 15 and the service was flawless. The food was amazing and the waiting times were minimal and for a Friday that was great. We got to enjoy a new menu which was great. They offer meals such as pigeon and venison. Definitely going again

I drove up from Cheltenham (200mile roundtrip) for their inaugural Porsche Sunday Breakfast Meeting. There were many Porsche owners and their cars in attendance and made to feel very welcome. The coffee was perfect and Rob the landlord, his Son Tyler & the rest of the team were really pleasant & friendly. I know they have more car events planned and can thoroughly recommend making it a stopping point if passing, you will not be disappointed and I will definitely be going back again soon.

Did a little circular walk around Hose and Harby and stumbled on the pub just where it should be, close to the church. A pint of black sheep ale and mini fish and chips went down very well, both excellent by the way. Nice welcome and chat with the land lady and we hope to be back soon.
