Brilliant staff and lovely food.
The walks are nice and the Tweed view is not to be missed. The new river walk is sadly not maintained.. it was completely overgrown when we visited and the elderly member of our group really struggled.. no path to walk and vegetation was shoulder height… on the plus
We have been past the end of the road to this so many times we’ve lost count, but our daughter spotted their sign to the cafe and we searched it out. Lots of parking, interesting old buildings repurposed as a cafe, upstairs secondhand bookshop and antiques shop. We had scones and coffee: delicious.
Great hidden gem. Nice cafe. Antiques centre and old book shop. Sunflowers were glorious!
Off the beaten track but worth it.. A few minutes drive from the main road initially through forest along a narrow road (with passing places), bear left onto gravel when you see the buildings and find a parking place- there's one disabled spot nearest the courtyard. There's an antiques place here
We decided to stop here before heading home. The views and walks were lovely and perfect on such a beautiful autumn day. We finished off with a browse through the shop and some tea and cakes. My latte was delicious and the portions were generous. We ordered a selection of cakes and couldn't find
Great friendly staff. Prompt service. A great pot of tea . We had bacon sandwich and cheese and caramelised onion and it's lovely. Also a brilliant walk and antique shop. Must visit
Interesting farmhouse Café with a boutique shop. Stopped by for lunch. Today’s soup with sandwich were tasty and liked the hot chocolate most. The decor was cute.
Popped in because we'd never been in before and everywhere else was full. Interesting place with lots of walks and antiques, the cafe was very welcoming although nearly empty, ordered some sandwiches, drinks and cakes, had a nosey about, food was good, overall a pleasant experience and will go back
Lovely little hidden gem with lots of interesting information, a cute little antiques shop, a book shop and a cafe. Staff were lovely and the selection on offer in the cafe was great. Had a lovely coffee and the cakes we had were delicious. Will be back to explore some more.
Nice enough place but we waited ages for our soups when we were the only table with an order for the kitchen to make, the other 2 tables were eating already. The staff is very young, none of them wearing any kind of aprons or anything while preparing food in the kitchen. Let's hope this is not becau
We had a lovely walk round Old Melrose followed by a very nice lunch at the Old Melrose Tea Shop
Loved my first visit ... planning going back sometime soon 🙏
A great place to visit..so many villages around yet feel out in the countryside with the various woodlands, river walks whilst visiting castles and ruins. Total chill out holiday
Good walks though still a lot of work going on to plant new woods so can get muddy after rain. Had soup and Ciabatta for lunch - nice warming soup that we ate in the courtyard ( would have been nice if the sun had come out but was quite sheltered so not overly chilly)
A lovely cute tearoom about a 2 minute drive off the A68.
Freshly brewed coffee, tea and refreshing cold soft drinks, not forgetting the delicious cakes and traybakes 🤤.
Price range is very very resonable.
It also has some lovely riverside walks, quite hilly but that would help burn off those calor
Lovely little cafe with great walks - great Pit stop on way to Edinburgh
Stumbled across this pretty little cafe travelling from Lauder to Jedborogh, great tea room, good home made food and cakes, bookshop and antique centre, stunning walks in beautiful surroundings, well worth a visit.
