Just been for a birthday celebration. 5 of us came in at 9.00pm - despite the lateness staff were very warm and happy to accomodate given the occasion. Main courses were delicious - pork chop was succulent as you like with homemade chips, and a decent bit of meat on the chop as well! Rest of the food went down a treat. Top burgers and a cracking Thai curry. Credit to chef Claire and her team. Done a great job with the pub - look forward to coming again soon!

Just had lunch and all I can say is - FANTASTIC!!! Gammon was delicious with a good portion of chips, fish and chips were of a good size and very tasty. The burger (that was a take away for my daughter) was gorgeous!! She is currently tucking into it as we speak with a grin on her face! Excellent value for money, great service and a pub with a great atmosphere! Thanks Claire, we'll be back soon for food

Claire (aka the boss) has become a mainstay of this village. The success of the George and dragon is a testament to the effort and attention to detail that goes into it. The newest addition, the fantastic summer garden area is perfect, it’s the only word that does it justice. Great food and friendly staff ensure a most relaxing visit, that you will want to experience again and again. Highly recommended.

It's fantastic to have our local open again thanks claire! Lovely friendly atmosphere, great food ( even the takeaway plated up & brought to the door 😉) The little touches are really noted... fresh flowers, tea lights, very pretty. The beer garden is looking very tempting for the next sunny day! Looking forward to a 'ladies night' in the near future! All in all a fab local pub!!.

Fantastic pub. The two guests on hand pull. The Theakstons Best Bitter was superb. The food was excellent. On our table we had a mixture of jacket potato, fish and chips, home made steak pie and two children's meals. All meals were excellent. The pie was full of meat with very tasty pastry. The excellent chips were home made. The kids meals were enough for our 3 and 6 year olds. Even the dog was given a bag with treats. The staff here were friendly and welcoming. I would definitely visit again.

Very nice food. Had a chilli, and the steak and ale pie. Pie was very good. There's a small number of parking spots directly outside of the pub. We were there mid week lunchtime, and it was quiet, but would be very happy to eat there again if we're back.

No need for safety concerns here! A lovely warm welcome from Ted to our table where Hannah took our order when we took a break from work. Thank you, Claire, for a really great lunch and for making such a brilliant effort to get the COVID-stuff right. Everything is in place to make sure you feel safe and can relax and enjoy good food in lovely surroundings. We’ll certainly be back soon.

Just visiting area found on Google maps, what a find. As 5pm rang to check still serving food on a Sunday and allow dogs both good so arrived just after. Warm friendly welcome unusually no restrictions on where we sat though chose near bar on a hard floor. Dogs were not just given a treat but there own bag of treats each tied in a paw print bow. Limited menu being Sunday but enough to suit and choice of beef or pork Sunday roast we had one of each. Staff very friendly and attentive took about 1/2 hour but obviously fresh and hot. Without asking came with small pot of horseradish and apply sauce with boat of extra gravy. The food was so tasty all of it, honey parsnips, creamy mash, crispy roast, homemade Yorkshire, mix veg but the gravy, heaven. We both cleared plates though dogs weren't happy no fat or grizzle just quality meat. Easily one of the best roast dinners we had found 😋. Forced ourselves to try a dessert ginger sponge and custard, vanilla ice cream. Again fresh tasty. So driving near Ripon seek this little gem out good local pub and food. Dog owners dream.
