Booked a 60th birthday party in the function room. Stewart and Sam couldn't have been more accommodating. Tables were perfect as was the curry and rice etc. Staff were friendly and really helpful. A great night. Thank you. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

The Kings Arms offers the best of all worlds - a great local pub with fabulous atmosphere, and food which is always delicious too. The team are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Well worth a visit if you are in town.

After eating a few times at the kings arms I though it would only be fair to let people know how great it is. The food is fantastic. The specials change everyday and they are always very tasty. The management team are so welcoming always have a big smile. And great with our children. I would highly recommend the Kings arms if you are looking for that place that goes the extra mile.

I've been really looking forward to a Sunday roast out for ages and this definitely DID NOT disappoint. Everything we had was cooked to perfection and not a morsel was left on our plates. Lots of food (not like some of these expensive pretentious places!) and left me feeling full for hours after. We will definitely be back. The service was great - everyone was so friendly. Certainly the sort of place that Melksham needs. Thank you for a lovely Sunday lunch.

We had a very positive experience with The King's Arms - from the uncomplicated booking process, information given beforehand up to friendly staff at service and generally a convenient stay. Beds were very comfortable although the room itself was rather small for the price we had paid. The pub is located at the main road of the town, however since it was weekend there was hardly any traffic noise as we had worried about. The pub below serves good food in a nice atmosphere and for the breakfast we were offered delicious dishes.

Great food and lovely friendly staff. Good location with free parking at the back of the hotel. We stayed for one night with breakfast included which again was very nice. We booked last minute (within an hour of arriving) and they were happy to accommodate us and book us a table for dinner. Our room was a good size, nicely decorated and immaculately clean throughout. Tea, coffee and water provided and we were given a small flask of milk on arrival. It's a busy pub/hotel with a good vibe and atmosphere. I'd recommend it and will be back.

Excellent Sunday lunch at the King's Arms. Very good service from the waiting staff and attention from the guy in charge with a lovely shirt! Good to have vegan options on the menu which aren't just the meat taken off a roast lunch. Very hot food which is a pleasant surprise after so many places seem to serve luke warm food. Excellent choice of both mains and sweets. Only one slight quibble and that was the size of the vegan wellington serving which could have been a tad more generous - very tasty though. Good place for a celebration meal or a treat. Thank you.

Lovely meal last night although both mackerel (& other dishes) not available. Service ok,2 staff walked past us twice before acknowledging us,had to ask for water, ice bucket, sauces as nothing was offered to us. Breakfast was lovely and staff were great too! Breakfast dining room is really pretty, nicer than evening dining room in my opinion. Room 3, fairly small but nicely decorated and comfortable. WiFi terrible in our room.

Nice location in the small town of Melksham, I stayed for a few nights B&B, my room #10 was very hot being right at the top of the building in the late summer heat. A nice comfy bed, TV, good wifi, nice bathroom with bath and shower. The breakfast was awesome, and you had several choices. Staff were great too!!

For those who like oldy-worldy pub hotels, this one is a must. I've had the pleasure of staying at this hotel twice and definitely would have stayed more if I could only get a booking. Like all these places. The choice of rooms is varied, so I can only comment on the two styles I've stayed in. The first is the gatehouse rooms separated from the main building by an archway leading to the car park. Loved this room (I think it was room 9) Nice, private and beautifully furnished. My second stay was in the main building on the first floor and again, very comfortable. My colleague was given a room on the next floor, which could be described as the loft, I suppose. For some reason, I have chosen fish and chips as my test food in the various hotels restaurants I find myself in and it was very nice. I think my photos will give you an idea what I mean, so no more to say.

Stayed for a couple of nights, b&b. Comfortable bed and good breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially the waitress in the morning. Centrally located with free parking and taxi rank opposite and a nice patio area to watch the world go by.

After a problem start with both the room and the food, the staff stepped up and sorted everything out. We were moved rooms and could not fault the new room. Breakfast was excellent. I had the eggs royal and thoroughly enjoyed it. Both our meals on the second night were very good. Enjoyed our stay. Very good service from both Ross and Andy.

I checked in on Thursday 5th October & stayed until the 7th. The manager immediately upgraded my elderly parents to a room on the ground floor to save my mother walking up any stairs as she has mobility issues. This was greatly appreciated, I can tell you! The rooms were absolutely spot on, as was the evening meal & breakfast. Nothing was too much for the staff & I would recommend it to anyone thinking of staying in Melksham

We only stayed one night but wish we could have stayed longer. Our room was on the top floor and was beautiful. The room was clean with some lovely little touches including a thermose flask for cold milk, welcome pack and hand cream in the bathroom. We ate there in the evening and the service was perfect. Staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was lovely. Gorgeous full English the next day too. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend. Thankyou

Beautiful rooms tastefully furnished. Very light and airy, spacious bathroom Dinner was disappointing but the Pub was very busy and they were very short staffed. The gentleman who greeted and looked after us was VERY pleasant extremely busy as he was on his own in the dinning room and could not have apologised more. 4Stars for short staff but 5 stars for the service. Would recommend.

We rented the Coach House for a private event. The room is great it has plenty of tables, chairs and even a projector with screen. The toilets are clean. The staff were extremely attentive and helpful in the lead up and during the event.

Four of us had an excellent lunch. It would have been great at the menu prices, but the Butcombe loyalty card made it superb value! Loved the jacket potatoes!

We had a lovely evening at The King's Arms. The room was tastefully decorated, very clean and had lots of thoughtful touches with bottled water, fresh milk and a lovely selection of teas and coffee. For guests with lots of luggage or accessibility issues, avoid rooms 9 and 10 which are at the top of a steep set of stairs. Staff were lovely and welcoming and service was great both at check in, check out and in the bar/restaurant. There was a lovely relaxed vibe in the bar and restaurant and the food was decent. We found the dinner menu to have very limited vegetarian and vegan options but the breakfast menu was excellent with something for everyone. Overall, a really comfortable and enjoyable stay.

A very welcoming and friendly Pub in Melksham. We reserved a table for 11 people and the pre booking was very easy. Service charge is very fair and the beers and wine were great. Sunday menu had lots of variety and everyone thought it was delicious and that the Yorkshire Puddings were some of the best we had tried. Very highly recommended.

Decent beer and good food (could have been slightly hotter, but not worthy of complaint). Welcoming staff and okay pricing (not cheapest, but above average quality). Lovely front courtyard, great spot to watch the world go by
