Love this quirky pub/cafe. Popped in for some lunch, my son had the bod club sandwich, hubby had a chicken & bacon ciabatta & I had the smoked salmon & cream cheese bagel. All were delicious & the coffee was excellent. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, will definitely visit again when in Matlock.
Heading in to Matlock for Brunch passed this place, liked the look and menu. Place we were heading to had stopped serving breakfast, so decided to give bod a try. I'm glad we did. I had the Shakshuka, which was delicious. Tom also had the same and Mum had the Smashed Avocado on Gluten-free Toast with a Poached Egg on the side. Drinks were good also. The atmosphere is cozy and bright. Staff are friendly and service is great.
High quality coffee served here along with a good selection of cakes and bakes plus other food options . The bod café/ brew bar is quite the place to visit whilst in the Matlock area , it's decor and vibe is quite eclectic featuring rustic natural planked tables and various other features including some industrial salvage style and reclaimed wood panels, plus retro signing style features and it's own brewery themed decor . The bod does have a good selection of alcoholic beverages which are artisan style and some well known brand standards all of a very good quality. The bod also produces it's own range of artisan and craft beers which are very popular with the local community and the tourist's who visit. Upon my visit I had a good cup of coffee americano style which was of a very good blend and had some light floral and fruit tasting notes, not overly roasted and was sensibly priced for a tourist area . The staff are friendly and welcoming and quick to respond to your order . The premises are clean and also have a ground floor WC which is wheel chair friendly , plus there are WC facilities up stairs which are kept clean to a good standard . The bod is also a dog friendly business and is ideal for guide dogs and pet varieties all are welcome if well behaved . The bod is quite on trend and seems to be quite the place to be for the smart casual set !! And although alcohol is served here as well it still retains a safe and steady vibe with a more sophisticated approach to the café/bar experience recommend for groups or couples of all ages who appreciate quality drinks and snacks in pleasant surroundings at sensible cost whilst in a tourist area.
We were wandering around looking for a place for lunch. Bod was well presented from the outside so we popped in. We didn't regret the decision, we had a lovely club sandwich. The food was tasty and the portion size was good. The coffee was good too and it looked like they had a good selection of alcoholic beverages too. The atmosphere was rustic but cosy and they are dog friendly so your four legged friend can come in too. Would definitely recommend for brunch/ lunch.
Loved the atmosphere, decor and a very nice lunch too. We were testing this place to recommend for guests at our holiday cottage Bailey's Barn in Bonsall and are happy to do so. Staff were helpful and polite. There's a good range of meals for breakfast and brunch and a smaller selection for lunch. However there's a large range of sandwiches as well as a small selection of all day snacks served until 10pm. There's a bar, a couple of side rooms and a spacious bar eating area. Very impressed.
Something a little different from other places. I found Bod Matlock to have a really nice vibe with a wide variety of clientele. Food is very good and staff are very friendly and helpful. Going upstairs to the Toilet is slightly entertaining as well as they have a unique way of differenciating between the Ladies and Gets toilets, I won't give the game away just now. If you do find yourself in Matlock, just a minute's walk from the Railway Station and along Dale Road about 50 yards, then you must visit, you'll be in for a little treat. As a side note Bod DO NOT serve Chips or Fries, not a problem for us as the rest of the food was great and the coffee was just exquisite.
Visited 14&15th October 2023.
Great place, great choice of beers from Titanic brewery. Love the quirkiness of the decor and toilets. The simple sausage roll was probably the best I have eaten, served with a fantastic chutney and garnish. Well worth the money, and bod is definitely worth a visit after a look around the antique shops
Often walked past this place on my way to the antique shops, but this time decided to call in for breakfast. Nice relaxed atmosphere, food and drinks arrived promptly and were tasty. There are some comfy chesterfield chairs in the window, so a nice spot to watch the world go by outside. Probably helped that it was a lovely sunny day and I wasn't at work, but I loved it. Would definitely return.
Fabulous food and more importantly great coffee. Would have definitely been 5 stars if the salad with my Goats cheese Panini (which was very tasty) hadn't been so bland and seemingly straight from a packet.
Decor is lovely too, can't fault the place.
Great service, quick and friendly. Nice selection of options on the menu, including vegan and vegetarian.
Good value and beautiful interior.
We really liked it in here as it was quite quirky. We only had a drink so cannot comment on the food but the place was busy with some locals so something tells me it's got a good reputation. We were only visiting Matlock for the day but if we were to return to the area then we would definitely come back here.
Popped in when visiting the Peak District and as I'm quite fond of a pint of plum porter or 5. Wasn't really what I was expecting from a brewery owned bar, it was more like a coffee shop due to the choices of cakes and stuff. Was well kept and staff were friendly and helpful enough.
Wonderful bar/cafe in what is turning out to be a bustling part of Matlock. Accent is on Titanic beers and porters with guest ales as well. Coffee is delicious. A really good addition to Dale Road. Enjoy. M
I liked it in here as it was unusual. We both had a half pint (whilst it rained outside) and the ales were really good, especially the Titanic Plum Porter. We cannot comment on the food. If I ever came back to Matlock I would make a beeline for this café.
Went in for a drink and a snack with my family and we loved it.
The food was great. We all shared two servings of the nachos and it was delicious.
Service was friendly and accommodating, especially when we asked for different amounts of toppings on the portions 😂.
Thank you guys!
Me and my partner came to bod to have some breakfast. We ordered a bod breakfast and avocado on toast with poached egg and bacon. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. My partner wanted pancakes instead of toast on his breakfast and the staff was very accommodating to let us modify our order. I wish my avocado on toast had a touch of lemon juice, nevertheless everything was very tasty. You could taste that bacon and sausages are from local butchers, it was fresh and sausages were thick and juicy. Both portions were quite big for a very good price. Bod also has a variety of cold coffees and a selection of milkshakes to choose from. Very relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff.
Great range of Titanic beers, with Everards Solstice too. Nice airy atmosphere, Jamie Lee (?) And Tom friendly and helpful behind the bar.
Chatted about Titanic / Everards connection, music opportunities, and acquaintances from Leek and Titanic pubs.
Free charging for phones and laptops too !!
Very pleasant and nice atmosphere when I popped in for a late breakfast one Wednesday in September 2022. Unfortunately, only one overstreached member of staff on until help arrived at 10am. Popped in again late afternoon mid week and had a large Pinot £5.95 = good value around here. Top barman.
