Absolutely amazing , everything about it food drinks staff especially the chef, we had tapas I can hand on heart say it was the best tapas I have ever had .we went Saturday tea time we had come to matlock for a 40th birthday party so stopping over night but would most definitely come back just for the food ,only a 40 minute drive for us xxx
Great atmosphere,friendly staff,amazing food (belly pork......wow!!!),great tapas selection,good drinks menu. We went on a Saturday evening and people who hadn’t booked were having drinks whilst waiting for a free table. We will definitely be back very soon!
Had mothers day tea with my family, the food was fabulous, we tried all different things on the menu and I can honestly say everything tasted so good and we even squeezed a yummy pudding in. Service and staff brilliant. Well worth a visit excellent
First visit yesterday and will definitely be returning. Great food (we literally ordered everything on the menu and it was all delicious), awesome cocktails and lovely staff. A very welcome addition to Matlock.

Had a lunchtime meal and a drink here, the food was amazing, we had paella and squid and it was really affordable, the atmosphere was perfect and the staff were friendly.
Went again to eat and the food was incredible. It’s hands down the best I’ve eaten in Matlock. Pork belly skewers were fantastic, and the salt and pepper squid incredible, honestly.
Went as a party of 12, and every single one of us was impressed with the food. Staff were are excellent, really friendly and chatty, and they did a great job of looking after us.

Menu has reasonably changed, and I personally find the new menu limited and disappointing (I was really looking forward to belly pork and cheese lollipops again, both now gone).
Decors also changed a bit. It still looks cool, very punk / tattoo, but I did prefer the decor before.
Friendly staff, great cocktail list and I love the decor. Will definitely visit again.
Absolutely fantastic. Nicky the Manager is new to the bar and doing an amazing job! Very friendly, listens to the customers. The service is excellent and Jake works very well with her too! Both looked after us and made us feel very welcome. Food and cocktails are gorgeous. Thoroughly recommend and will definitely visit again. Thank you 🥰

Still reasonably new and easily the best bar in town. They do great food and cocktails and have an interesting line up of beers to try. Their food is very popular so if you are visiting at the weekend it is definitely a good idea to book. It is quite a small venue so finding a seat is often a problem at busy times. If that’s the only complaint you can find with a place though you’re on to a winner. They do breakfast as well which I haven’t done yet but it is on my to do list. It is the only place in town where you can sit at a table get your drinks bought over and more often than not get some complimentary bar snacks such as olives too thrown into the bargain. They have also recently started putting live entertainment on st the weekend which I worried could be over powering loud as in some of the other bars in town. I was pleasantly surprised that I could still hear others at the table though which made it rather splendid. Definitely worth a visit if you’re out shopping for antiques or on a big night out.
Very impressive food, very colourful, full of flavour and presented very well.
The decor is very Urban, and more what you would expect in a City rather than in a small town.
It not been around long so I hope it lasts the test of time.
Only negatively is it's quite small, but doesn't feel cramped. Gets very noisy as everyone starts to complete to be heard. And a unisex toilet. Not the fault of the restaurant, but some customers are not very good at cleanliness and ruin it for others.
Staff are great and attentive.
Would I go back? Yes, but it is geared more to the younger crowd. So expect a good but loud atmosphere
Went back again at weekend after a brilliant meal a few months ago. Nice to see the menu is continually being updated with more and more fantastic choices; while still keeping some of my previous favourites.
Also added a few more beers to the menu which was good to sample them all. Camden Hells is a new fav of mine.

What a great little place! We were staying in Matlock for a couple of nights to explore the area and saw Rubigo on the way in. Went there on a Saturday night and loved it. Food, cocktails, atmosphere, service - all were great. We thought the menu would be mainly Spanish but it wasn’t at all, they just adopted the concept of tapas (great idea btw). All dishes we ordered were absolutely scrumptious. Definitely recommend it and would go back if in the area again.
7 of us had to pile in unexpectedly, as the restaurant we had actually booked had a power cut. So all credit to the lovely young lady that took care of us, we had a great time with great food and cocktails, thank you!
We have had a number of fab meals here, but Christmas Eve was exceptional. The food and drink was superb, the staff friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was excellent, festive and friendly and warm. Would highly recommend Rubigo
Very nice staff, great atmosphere and good food but perhaps a bit disorganised/too popular! A long wait on dessert and lots of people waiting for tables so we left earlier than we'd have liked.
Brilliant place for a Friday & Saturday night sesh.. choose your own music and nice variety of food and drinks 🍹.. don’t forget the staff Meg and Nikki are the dream team!
