Super pub with grand views across the valley. Hosts and staff are extremely friendly and will do anything to make your stay the best they can. Food in the pub is splendid, and I can recommend the breakfast highly. Rooms are really comfortable and warm. Would return here again.

I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a place to eat, sleep or just relax when in Matlock but if you are walking from the town centre catch the bus as although they offer everything else they can't provide you with the cardiac monitor that is required after the walk up the hill😊

Excellent dog friendly pub. Food and accommodation was superb. Staff were really friendly and helpful. We used it as a stop off on our way to Cumbria and it was ideal. Highly recommend. Thanks

Hubby and I just had Sunday lunch, he had a large roast, I had the small one, as there is always too much for me. Just the right amount for me, and hubby got through the large one with no trouble. Very tasty, and the beef just melted in the mouth. Will be back, thanks, great friendly staff as well

My Daughter had vegetarian lasagne. She said it was lovely. I had a small roast beef dinner and mum had a small lamb dinner. I couldn't fault anything. Everything was cooked perfectly and was just the right amount for all of us. We all had Apple pie with ice cream for pudding which was Devine. Will definitely be going back.

Fantastic pub, great room.. food was lovely, only downside is the only cider on draught was Strongbow 😔 that’s really not proper cider.. fantastic pub though...

Great food, service and nice friendly atmosphere. Reasonable prices and good menu. Children's menu and veggie options available. Plenty of areas for eating and drinking inside and out. Nice view from garden. Dog friendly.

Lovely and cozy B&B. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was super delicious. Safe parking for motorbike away, not visible from the road. The room is far from the pub, so was very quiet.

Lovely Staff, good selection of beers, food was lovely. Only negative was that the bed was abit lumpy. Saying that I would definitely stay here again as £60 per night for a double room is great value. 15 minute walk down the road is a waterfall.

Well, what a nice place, the bus stop is just over the road, breakfast was really nice & the staff could not do enough for you, going back Nov, and will stop there again, In fact, every time i go to matlock area, if they can get me in, i will stop there.

Stopped here for Sunday dinner. Lovely view from the windows. Very friendly staff and very tasty food. Initially a mix up with what was ordered but very quickly resolved and we benefitted from the extra meat given in mistake which I'm not comaining about. Dogs we'l one too so a brucey bonus for that too. Thanks. Will be back I'm sure.

It's our local that we've avoided until now as the previous management was awful. All changed and a cracking spot, plus they manage to cater for my awkward dietary restrictions and the beer is great 😃

Getting back to being a great pub again after the previous landlady drove it into the ground. Eaten twice here now and decent grub. Has sky sports, believe they'll be getting BT Sports for next season aswel. Biggest beer garden in Matlock and small play area for kids. Dogs also welcome. Needs abit of TLC in some areas like the toilets but the new management are aware and slowly but surely repairing the mess that was left for them. A pleasure to be able to drink here again, albeit I would love to see a lighter lager such as Corona on draught.
