This was my first time coming here and I can honestly say I'm coming again. It has lovely decor, the menu is amazing and the milkshakes are divine! It's great that it's dog friendly too. All the staff were lovely.

Nice themed dog friendly cafe. Some interesting items of the menu along with more traditional options. Arrived not long after opening and was served quickly. Good view from outdoor seating area. Homemade cake was good and the biscoff latte was a nice treat. Would reccomned if in the area!!

One of the best spots in Matlock! Iv been meaning to try this lovely little cafe for year now, and after weeks of driving past it I finally got to try it, and WOW they didn't disappoint! The food/drink, the atmosphere, and staff was amazing! Plenty of stuff on the menu to chose from, and lots and lots of cocktails and beers! Definitely will be returning! Especially for their famous freak shake Update - went back for the mint choco chip freakshake and it defo lived up to the fame!

Only went in for a "Freak Shake" We both chose Banoffee flavour and it was lovely. Lots of extras, like ring donut, banana sweets, cream, toffee sauce on top. Very filling in a wonderful little café bar setting. Nice little outside area as well. All the food on offer looked amazing and we'll definately be going when in the area. Staff were lovely and Friendly, well worth booking in advance, very busy. 27/06/25 - Popped in when staying quite local. Couldn't resist the pancakes as arrived to late for breakfast. Great tasting fresh food, served by friendly polite staff in a quirky setting. Love this place and we'll worth a visit, be prepared for very filling portions👌

Lovely little place in the centre of Matlock. Food was great. I had the fish finger sandwich. Thick white slice too After a punishing bike ride up the local hills it was a great rest stop. Nice pot of tea as well

Spacing of tables in garden room was a little snug, service was good but a little excessive on the "are you ok for anything else?" Food was lovely and could not fault.

Had Afternoon Tea and Cocktails here ('Hen Do')...Absolutely brilliant! The lady that mostly served us was sooo helpful, friendly and had a sense of humour! She was definately 'working her socks off' rushing around to keep all customers happy! Will be back to try a 'Freakshake' soon!

Amazing little cafe with some incredible treats, especially the freakshakes! Went in for an afternoon treat for our kids and they loved it. Great service even on a busy afternoon and everything was really nice. Would visit again.

We decided to go to Mad Hatter for lunch after we had heard a couple of recommendations about it. It's only has a small shop front but there is also plenty of extra seating outside at the back. It does get quite busy. Nice food and a good variety which is well presented, although you may require a sweeter tooth. I would recommend you give it a try. We used the lido car park which is nearby for 2hours but we would have been better in a long stay car park if you want to go shopping as well.

Read about this place online and was excited to go. Drinks were great, especially the children's hot chocolate and the non dairy mills available for the latte. Decor was fantastic, a great theme!! Didn't stop to eat, but the food and huge milkshakes looked great. Didn't find the service particularly overly warm and friendly, tried to engage one member of staff in conversation, but they weren't particularly interested. Otherwise the drinks we had were fine, but would we return, possibly not.

Great funky little place. Popped into Matlock in our holidays and we're looking for somewhere to have some breakfast. Stumbled across this place and boy am I glad we did. We generally prefer little local places and this one didn't disappoint. We also have a dog so that always gives us the extra challenge of finding somewhere suitable. We have a lovely cooked breakfast and our little girl had a stack of pancakes (see the pic). Was lovely and staff were friendly too. Defo recommend a visit 🙂
