What a delightful find, we were recommended by a neighbouring cafe who did not serve food before midday. It was our first visit even though we shop weekly at Matlock, and we will make sure we come on a weekly basis when possible. We were felt welcome from when we walked through the door and the owners deviated to cook the mushrooms with usual butter to olive oil for me and my vegan requirements,we had the most delicious breakfasts and thoroughly recommend. Thank you for a fantastic service and to accommodate our needs , we recommend you 100% for service and food quality .

A real hidden gem! But one not to be missed. The food is home made and wholesome, no nasty greasy café stuff, but just like your mum used to make!
The soup was delicious and the ham, egg and chips was sublime.
Friendly, helpful owners who really deserve the custom - nothing is too much trouble and local knowledge is abundant. We were given a number of beautiful walks to do and they were spectacular. Thank you Roger and Val for making our week in Matlock!
Popped in on a grey Wednesday in January and enjoyed a lovely warm welcome. My husband and I both ordered a full English breakfast which was very well priced. Served with a smile and perfectly cooked with a bacon treat for our little dog too. We’ll certainly visit again and will be recommending you to our friends. Edit May 2018 : This time we visited with our daughter, and found the place to be extremely child friendly. It's hard to find a place with good food at low prices, a friendly atmosphere and a welcoming hand, and to top it all they're more than happy to accommodate the little one (you'd be surprised how many places are child tolerant rather than child friendly!). Thank you for such a lovely service again we will be back.

Myself, my wife & our two kids (3 & 7) had an excellent brunch here today. The full English was excellent. The waiter was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, colouring books were produced for the kids and it was a very pleasant little courtyard to sit out in and relax for an hour.
What a perfect little cafe. Stopped in here to grab breakfast/brunch, it's just off the main Street and I couldn't recommend it more wholeheartedly. The staff (I think owners) were so helpful and our breakfast/coffee was great.

Little gem of a cafe. Called in whilst visiting punnydukes and staff were lovely and chatty, meals were served quickly and generous helpings. My ham, egg and chips were served with ample amount of quality ham, generous portion of salad with coleslaw and chips which was thoroughly enjoyed. My sisters enjoyed a large portion of lovely fish, chips, peas with bread and butter and all at a reasonable price. Definitely worth a visit and would highly revommend.
Absolutely the best food I'd eaten in days, lovely cafe, definitely worth the visit. Kind and caring service from lady working there and a chef that knows his ingredients 😁 will definitely go back when in the area.
