We visited The Boat Inn as a group of 11. There was a Sunday Carvery on with the option to choose from the main menu as well. We had a mixture between the group and everyone was happy - the pork and beef from the Carvery were both lovely! We also had a few football fans with us who wanted to watch the match. There is a great space for that downstairs in the sports area of the pub. All in all an excellent pub with very friendly, helpful owners/staff. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area.

We went there for our tea on our last night before heading home. You can always tell a good pub if it is full of locals. The Staff was very friendly and the food was excellent and so was the price. I highly recommend this pub.

So friendly, lovely people especially the landlady Lorraine who organised a taxi for a slightly intoxicated patron (me) great music spot on beer. Think I will retire here, if only they could reserve the last stool at the end of the bar for me,....one of the nicest bars I've ever visited. Come and visit soon, but remember the end stool is mine lol ...

Great homemade food, friendly staff and very welcoming. Certainly a place that's well worth a visit and a regular pit stop place for our family after walking along Cromford canal. +++

Stayed nearby for a few days and ventured in for food and drinks several times. The staff and locals were friendly and polite, food was good and portions plentiful! Good selection of beers including local cask ales. Good atmosphere on sunday evening in the beer garden when the boules players are in full swing. Shame I couldn't stay around for the weekly quiz night and some of the live music. I'll definitely be back if I'm in the area again (y)

Great food and beer. Only suggestion ask for the bill if paying by card because it just shows you total amount owing. Mine Wednesday night was incorrect asked for the bill which showed i was overcharged but the transaction had gone through but got a cash refund

Delicious food and served piping hot, quickly and it was all clearly homemade. Chips to die for! Presentation was also great - the food was so good we came back twice in 2 days on our holidays!

This is a fantastic pub. We were on holiday in the area and called in for a meal on a Thursday evening, quiz night. The service was warm, friendly and polite. The food was brilliant. I had the vegetarian 3 bean chilli followed by ginger sponge with custard. Both were really tasty. There was a good selection of hand pulled beers. I tried 2 different ones and both were excellent. The quiz was fun, with extras such as a meat raffle and a raffle to win a chance to answer one last question to win £150. This rolled over if it wasn't answered correctly. We didn't win, but had a great night. All the staff deserve credit for their warmth and their impressive level of service. The food, the beer, the atmosphere and the service were all top notch!

Lovely pub, great friendly staff, very dog friendly, good value food and very generous portion sizes. We went on steak night, £13.95 for a mixed grill and it was huge and tasty. Old peculiar on draft also very nice, real ales choice was good. Alcohol free beers available too. Parking difficult with limited on street parking, no time limit on parking in the evening. Lovely location though.

Very nice cosy pub, staff very friendly & efficient, Locals very friendly & welcoming. food very tasty, Beef lasagne, veg lasagne, fish box, Black & blue burger all very tasty. We didnt have puddings as we were all full, good size portions. We did have 2 latte & cappuccino to finish & got a lovely Duck chocolate which are made in a shop near the Duck pond, very cute. We stayed for the pub quiz which was good fun & only £1.50. Can recommend & we will come back again. Thank you.

This is a lovely place to go. It is beautiful in the summer with their outdoor space and you can hear the water which is amazing. It is a really nice place to go for dinner or a drink. The staff were nice and the food was good.

Had a lovely meal here Sunday evening, when most other pubs had finished serving meals. Two of our party had chicken and ham pie with chips with mushy peas, one had burger and I had goats cheese bake. They were all delicious and filling too.

Popped in on a rainy day for lunch whilst visiting the area. Traditional pub, fires where on l, cosy atmosphere. Homemade pie and chips, very good. Would suggest eating in the bar area than the resultant as the bar area has more atmosphere.
